Larry Foote "excited to return" to Steelers

Free agent linebacker Larry Foote appears close to agreeing to a deal to return to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I am excited to return,” Foote told Terry Foster of the Detroit News. “They called.”

Foote played for the Steelers from 2002 to 2008 before signing with his hometown team, the Lions, in 2009. Even though things didn’t go particularly well in Detroit, Foote says he doesn’t regret it.

“It was a positive experience,” he said. “I mean, I got to play at home, but the part that stunk is that all of the games were not on television. … But overall, the people I met and networked with, I was happy about the situation.”

The Cardinals are the other team in the running for Foote, but a story on the Cardinals’ official web site says it doesn’t look like it’s going to work out in Arizona, so Pittsburgh seems to be the place Foote will sign, possibly as soon as today.

I’m glad he left the Lions, he was one of the few bright spots on their Defense.

As long as he is a backup this makes sense.

Hey Larry Foote, if you keep spinning like that you’re gonna pull something. You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting.

I like Foote, I think he’ll end up replacing Farrior. Last year Farrior got ate up more than a McDonald’s Happy meal so I think his time starting is coming to an end. Good move across the board.

Poor, poor Steelers. They know it’s the end of the winning road and it’s starting to look very much the 80s (a decade where they did nothing) is about to repeat… So in a last, desperate, clawing measure, they’re re-signing players from the “glory years” like Foote and Randle El in some bizarre effort to recapture something they can’t.
It won’t help. Evereyone else on the team is either getting too old, gone, or out raping college girls.
So this is what it looks like when a team that dominated for quite a while finally slips back into mediocrity.
    It’s a great day.

Glad to have Larry back. He was a very solid player and knows the system. Easy fit.
    GO STEELERS!

Well, after deciding he’d prefer to play for the Lions and the Cardinals, I’m glad he’s finally excited to play for the Steelers. Welcome back, Larry.

Hey trickbunny….Nice name….You are sooooo jealous of the Steelers its not funny. I see you never said what your team is so I understand your jealousy. The Steelers tradition is unlike any other. Remember asswhole….6 (Six) Super Bowls. The Pro Football Hall of Fame should be renamed the Pittsburgh Steeler Hall of Fame…Get over it you stpid itiot.

I’m working on the netbook today and it keeps switching screens and scrolling on me with no warning. So if I just posted something on this thread that doesn’t belong here … sorry ’bout that!

Hey trickbunny, Randle el is going to be a 4th receiver and Foote is only 29. He is going to get some time with reps because Timmons didn’t pan out like they thought and Farrior is getting old. It is kind of the opposite of what you just said. They would be getting younger at linebacker idiot.

Timmons will move to Farriors spot and Foote will return to his old spot. Sorry to say Farrior’s era is almost over.
