Merriman says he'll be at WWE event

Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman hasn’t signed his restricted free agent tender.  So he’s not under contract.

So he’s not prevented from engaging in other activities that his football contract would prohibit, like wrestling.

And it appears based on Merriman’s Twitter page that he plans to show up for the WWE event that will be televised tonight from San Diego.  He says, “I want the mic.”  Whether some type of arrangement has been made for him to take the mic and then pretend to slam it against someone’s head remains to be seen.

You can see it for yourself on USA Network tonight, starting 9:00 ET.  Sure, USA Network is owned by NBC.  But that’s merely a coincidence.

I was a huge wrestling fan in the 1980′s and 90′s.
The first 2 years of the nWo was must watch TV (Then they took the belt from Sting in April 1998 thus giving the middle finger to the loyal WCW fans).
    Haven’t watched wrestling since 1999.
Tried watching WWE, it sucks so much.
TNA is crappy too but not as much (Maybe because I remember Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair as a kid)

    I doubt it
I rememeber when I was young there always being pro sports players in the crowd and they would always bring the camera over there for them to wave and such. Actually I think a couple years ago I was watching WWE for some reason and Merriman was their with a couple of teammates.
Its nothing new. Celebs are always in the crowd and rarely ever get involved in the show.

Too many distractions for AJ to be Charger beyond this year unless he has some remarkable turnaround. Still might not be enough with Larry English on board. He didn’t help his cause by calling out the GM after AJ challenged the team to play tougher. Maybe some team will offer up a 1st and 3rd. He may get transition tagged next year setting up a trade or just released.

Honestly, what kind of grown man has the time and/or desire to direct any kind of interest whatsoever to pro wrestling?
Yeah, I used to like to watch wrestling – when I was like 11 years old.
WWE and its ever increasing reach are one clear example of how stupid the average citizen of this country is.

Roid-rage is a myth for the weak minded and anyone who died from roids was misusing or overdosing.

what would be hilarious is if LO did get the mic and announce during the WWE program that he had signed an offer sheet with a team.

I’m pretty much against any JUICER so ferriman and the WWE are a nonpoint.
without the juice, Ferriman’s numbers dropped faster than the WWE’s ratings without Terri ‘the juice’ HULK HOGAN

Roids are a tool for the weak puke’s and cheaters, and anyone who uses them either has, or ends up, with a screw loose.
    Like you DBag.
