Offseason conditioning programs kick off

I’m working for the next two weeks from New Orleans, where you can’t walk into a single store without finding Super Bowl championship-related merchandise, and you can’t make it down one block without seeing someone wearing Saints gear.

But five weeks after Tracy Porter made the Weavers very excited, the 2010 season was born Monday in facilities across the NFL.

The Patriots, Broncos, Giants, and Redskins are among the many teams that kick off their offseason training programs Monday, almost six months before the regular season starts.

Clinton Portis, LaRon Landry, and Albert Haynesworth were among the notables in attendance in Washington.

The conditioning programs are not mandatory, but they are the first official player business conducted for 2010.  We’ll have more calendar touchstones coming up: the first on-field practices, the start of training camp, etc.

For now, dudes lifting weights is the best we get until the NFL Draft.

Ben Ruthlessonfurberger will be focused on other things and Brian Urlacher won’t be cleared for participation until his toenail polish has dried.

I see alot of 4skins out partying etc so any training is meaningless when you are drinking like a fish everyday. I in particular saw haynesworth eating 10 or so appetizers potato skins etc and drinking like a fish in season one night.
my buddy and I were going…man..no wonder that guy is underachieving for the 4skins. no discipline or diet at all and translates into a fat boy gasping for air and waving to come out of the line up 3 plays into a game….LMAO.
I saw mike williams at my gym and he did this one machine for 10 minutes and got off as he was gased..great training guys…LMAO.

Why did you not just leave it as many teams started their offseason workouts? You should do that or list them all, Rosenthal.
Why did you mention the Patriots, Broncos, Giants and Redskins?
I wish you had included that the Packers started today or just left it that many teams began today.
Listing them all or not mentioning any in particular would have been much better.

I have no doubt that you do see an awful lot of Foreskins in your social life.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that, except you’re handle indicates you may be a pedophile as well.

How long do the conditioning programs go on for? Is there a long break for the players in between conditioning and mini-camp?
