Akin Ayodele may be the most experienced, young free agent that hasn’t received any free agent attention — until today.
Matt Maiocco of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports that Ayodele met with the 49ers Tuesday about a possible backup role. He would potentially play behind Patrick Willis and Takeo Spikes at inside linebacker.
If Ayodele comes off the bench, it will be for the first time since his rookie year. The 30-year-old has started at least 11 games for seven straight years. He was cut by the Dolphins March 5 to make room for Karlos Dansby.
I hate Akin Ayodele
Foreclosure city paid way too much for Dansby.
The Dansby signing was a great signing by the Dolphins. If you want quality you have to pay for it. He fills a big need for the Dolphins. Good riddance to Ayodele…..he really sucked last year in a porous defence.
He’s a solid if unspectacular player.
Patrick Willis will commit suicide playing
next to(Mr. 10 missed tackles)Akin for a
full season.
Guy is decent most the time, occasionally terrible. Doesn’t make plays, but does his job in the inside.
I’ll take him. Solid backup/special teams guy.
as a Niners fan, one question: WHO IS HE???
I’ll take him as a back up. Its always funny how teams pick up players from the same conference
solid BACKUP. He honestly did fine last year, even if he couldn’t run with a TE for his life
Don’t we already have McKillop and Willhem?
