Big crowd expected for Florida Pro Day

When former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow works out for scouts on Wednesday, there will be more than a few non-scouts in attendance.

Per a league source who’ll be at the session, the folks at Gainesville are expecting a crowd of more than 10,000.

At many schools, attendance at the Pro Day workout is limited to players, agents, scouts, coaches, and accredited media. We’re not sure how or why the Florida folks are accommodating so many onlookers.

The festivities get rolling at 10:00 a.m. ET

As pointed out in our Tuesday item for SportingNews.com, we think the NFL teams should arrange for defensive linemen and defensive backs to participate in the throwing drills, so that the scouts will be able to determine whether Tebow’s new-but-not-new throwing motion survives upon the application of pressure.

UPDATE: Liz Mullen of SportsBusiness Journal says via Twitter that one agent says the crowd could be as large as 20,000.
