Source: Roethlisberger did not talk to investigators over the weekend

Jason La Canfora of NFL.com reported earlier today that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger returned to Georgia over the weekend, and that he met with one or more officials from the Georgia Bureau of Investigations regarding the pending sexual assault investigation.

Though Roethlisberger indeed was in Georgia, a source with knowledge of the situations tells us that he did not speak with investigators.  Instead, Roethlisberger met with his legal representatives.

That said, some members of Roethlisberger’s group were interviewed on Saturday.

It doesn’t mean that Roethlisberger won’t ultimately be interviewed.  But, as we understand it, he has not yet spoken to investigators since a brief interview on the evening of the alleged incident.

As much as this may pain most of the donkeys out there (including the douchebag Raven fan base), it’ll be nice to see Ben put this behind him and lead the Stillers to Lombardi # 7.

  5. KnuckleBucket says: Mar 16, 2010 2:05 PM

Maybe if the investigators were young college girls, he would have gone to the interview already. Ben doesn’t have time to sit down with a bunch of middle aged men…….

Hey come on, take it easy on Ben. If I had to concoct all sorts of lies to cover my tracks, and make sure all my lies worked out with my lawyer, I would take a long time before I would want to talk to the police as well.

Big Ben ate lunch today. It may have been in Georgia or it may not have been in Georgia according to a source. And he also upsized the fries.

  16. Chapnasty2 says: Mar 16, 2010 2:33 PM

    @ katmandu
If Ben wants to put it behind him he will volunteer DNA and offer any interview the authorities want. Since he is hesitating to do either, it can be assumed that he either doesn’t want to put it behind him or he is guilty of something.

  17. djmitch says: Mar 16, 2010 2:41 PM

He can put it behind him as long as this accusation is found false. Until then he is learning how to scramble from those blitzing Georgia Prosecutors.
Ravens Fan (but does that matter?)

Is this another story you’re going to retract because your “source” was not reliable?
I know any Big Ben story gets website hits, but can you wait until you have credible/relevant stories from named sources?
This just in: Roethlisberger had illegal bonfire in yard, sources say…

  24. C.Bass says: Mar 16, 2010 3:40 PM

At least Ben didn’t murder someone like Ray Lewis and Donte Stallworth.

  26. FlorezHilton.com says: Mar 16, 2010 3:50 PM

also in the news today Heidi Montag’s breasts look amazing, but her face is scary. Kristie Alley is trying to sell a diet operated by the scientology. What does this have to do with football absolutely nothing, except maybe how Alley selling diet info is as absurd as Florio selling football info.

He has Ray’s lawyer he will walk away without being charged. But christ, you have 2 rings, a ton of money, and you are a elite starting qb. Go after some hot soccer moms and stop hanging around college bars. Atleast the milfs know what tothey are getting. College chicks are waaaayyyy to0 clingy

  28. Dakota1 says: Mar 16, 2010 4:04 PM

Maybe reserve judgment until something substantial comes out. None of you trolls were there, nor know what happened. If something did happen then hopefully justice will prevail, if nothing happened then hopefully that will come out.

  29. frox says: Mar 16, 2010 4:11 PM

I heard Roethlisberger made Ed Garland get him a pack of gum and then told his kids to kiss his ass. What a prick…

  30. dabarber says: Mar 16, 2010 4:11 PM

When are the Steelers going to sign another QB or are they comfortable with Charlie Batch as their 2010 QB?

  31. C.Bass says: Mar 16, 2010 4:12 PM

It’s funny when Bengal fans comment on Big Ben. Don’t the Bengals lead in arrests over the last 5 years?
How many SB rings does Ed Reed have?

  32. C.Bass says: Mar 16, 2010 4:18 PM

A source is reporting that the girls is dropping the charges. She said she was just upset after Ben said he wouldn’t take her home.

  33. j-daddy says: Mar 16, 2010 4:25 PM

The longer this plays out, the less likely it is that Big Ben is going to be charged with anything. Is the guy an idiot? Yes. Is he perhaps a big jerk? Yes. Has he been convicted of rape or even charged with rape in a criminal court? No. Again, NO. He’s certainly guilty of poor judgement, but I’m not sure that we should be forming a lynch mob just yet.

  34. jamaltimore says: Mar 16, 2010 4:27 PM

    C.Bass,
I just looked at up Ray’s Record and it says he was guilty of obstruction of justice and his two buddies were charged with nothing?
This piece is on Benster the Molester who is dealing with one civil rape case while another criminal one is baking in Georgia. Not some charges that were thrown out of court over 10 years ago.

  35. dabarber says: Mar 16, 2010 4:43 PM

    @ J-DADDY
The longer it plays out the better chances for Ben?
Most criminal cases don’t go to trial within two weeks you tool bag.

  36. Bens Attorney says: Mar 16, 2010 6:50 PM

I love how all of you here in the court of public opinion has assumed already that Ben is guilty.
But I would like to know where the fair reporting is about the “poor victim’ attending a social function in Texas this past weekend with her sorority sisters. I would think if she was as traumatized as has been reported that she wouldnt be quite up to partying already. That was reported on wtae today..
And you all have hammering on the fact that she quit school , well no she didnt she returned to school yesterday. But where is the report on that.
She is beginning to sound less and less like a victim to me.

  37. RAVNATION says: Mar 16, 2010 8:17 PM

or maybe ben’s attorney she is trying to surround herself with friends and keep it as normal as she possibly can given the circumstances..
ever think of that you dumb pitt b#$%$ch- probably not… well cause your a dumb pitt b$#$%h.

  38. 123456789 says: Mar 17, 2010 5:43 AM

I agree. The autorities have nothing on Rottenberger. What makes anyone believe he is going to be charged now? It’s been almost 2 weeks.
Big Ben is an @$$. But, I’m tired of these skanks and whores that put themselves into such situations. They are nothing but skanks and teases. Women are evil now that you think about it. This broad should be ashamed of herself for being such a gutter tramp. Is this what she came to college for? To give a football star she just met a BJ in a unisex toilet? Disgusting pig!
I still think Rottenberger should be booted off the Steelers. But, this outpour of sympathy for the likes of whores like this from hacks like Mike Florio is almost as disturbing as how Big Ben conducts himself.
I’m just sick and tired of a world full of bitches and hos.
    Let us be free.

  39. 123456789 says: Mar 17, 2010 5:57 AM

dabarber? You are the tool bag. Of course, most cases don’t go to trial in 2 weeks. But, charges for something like this usually come down by now.
Try concentrating before you try writing something next time. Dig?
