Chargers re-sign Ian Scott

Ian Scott is staying in San Diego.

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that Scott, a free agent defensive tackle who played the last two years with the Chargers, has signed a one-year deal to stick with the team for the 2010 season.

Keeping Scott became a higher priority for the Chargers after they lost defensive tackle Jamal Williams, whom the Chargers hoped to re-sign after releasing, but who signed with the Broncos instead.

In 2009 Scott played in 12 games, starting seven.

  1. Good. Rivera knows what he’s doing. I just don’t understand everyone’s worry about releasing Jamal Williams. We went 12-3 without him last year playing the AFC North and the NFC East, and it should only get better this year, especially after the draft. We’re playing the AFC South and the NFC West, as well as the rest of the AFC West. How are we NOT favored to win the AFC West again?

  2. Good call. Ian Scott has at least a year left in the tank, and he’s a Rivera guy. Pretty good nose tackle too. But they’re still probably going after Mt. Cody if he’s on the board at #28.

  3. Thank you knowledgeable Bolt fans. At last a few words of wisdom rather than those about to jump off the cliffs. Williams, one game last year, Cro, didn’t even know he played at all last year, LT, about the same thing. And they still went 13-3, so what’s the big deal? Don’t get it.
