E.J. Henderson says he’ll “definitely” play again

In a Sunday night game against the Cardinals last December, Vikings linebacker E.J. Henderson suffered a grisly leg fracture, one that rivals the Joe Theismann moment from 1985.

More than three months later, Henderson is recovering -- and he vows to return.

“Oh, I’m definitely going to play football again,” Henderson told Chip Scoggins of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. “I really don’t think that’s a question at this point barring some freak occurrence. But I’m definitely going to play football again. It’s just a matter of will I be back in July or August.”

He says that August is the goal, which would get him on the field in time for the start of training camp. Of course, he’ll miss the entire offseason program; given, however, that the injury looked at the time like something that would end his career, the Vikings should be thrilled with the possibility that he’ll be back by August.
