Steelers-Ravens are ALWAYS classics. So 2008? Best rivalry in football. Hard hitting. And Ravens had 3rd ranked defense last yr buddy and played A LOT better from midseason on giving up least amount of pts. Do some research and watch games. You’ll get a good look when they destroy the Jets.

Bandwagon. My family and I have been season ticket holders for the Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins since 1965 and the Patriots since 1993 and BC football and Mens Basketball and U Mass Mens Basketball since 1994. I’m the apitomy of being LOYAL.
I am also lucky with being the father of a 4 yr old daughter that I can afford such a luxury at the age of 40. I hope that I can be able to keep these tickets for my daughter’s children if she chooses to have kids someday.
Our teams may have been through tough times like anyone else but I will support them.
AT LEAST WE HAVE OUR TEAMS in BOSTON.
St Louis, Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville etc are all in danger of moving to LA. Or one of those teams MAY. But it is a bad day in professional sports when Los Angelos can’t even support a football “professional” team. Upps I forgot Pete Carroll just bolted the semi pro USC team and left Lane Kiffin and daddy to clean up the mess from Reggie Bush.
The Lions should be happy to have the Pats or anyone play in Ford Field on Turkey Day.

BTW, I do think the lions will turn it around, few years of course, but I have faith in their new coach. I don’t think they’ll beat the pats this year, but hey, any given sunday right?
Also, about the bandwagon fans. You are 100% right about that. I remember sitting on those crappy metal benches and looking around, and I couldn’t believe how empty the place was. (been a fan literally since I was born in ’83, thanks dad). Alot of new fans came along once parcells was on board, and then the year after when Kraft bought the team.
But I don’t really think “bandwagon fans” are a bad thing. It’s a side effect of success. It happens in almost all sports when whatever team gets good. Unless we’re talking about the Packers. Those are some die-hards.

Maybe i’m in the minority but I prefer good clean football over trashfests featuring 8 picks, fumbles falling Mike Brown’s lap, and the occasional safety on a blocked punt!

Tigers were 12th in the MLB in attendance last year…Lions sold out 4 games last year despite coming off a 0-16 season…and The Red Wings are still the best team in sports right now (making a run at 18 consecutive playoff appearances…hows that for consistency dick).
Also the Bears still suck lol…

Besides being one of the two most historic teams in this league, the Bears have also been one its most popular and exciting–from capturing the nation’s heart/imagination with the 85 Bears, the SNL skits, the Fridge, Ditka, etc etc. — to the modern day QB dramas, defensive studs (and duds), recent FA splashes, all-time amazing special teams performances, nail-biting situations and memorable finishes, I just don’t have any f*cking clue what you think you’re talking about.

I won’t bother debating with you about the Pro Bowl laden Lions.
Maybe first try winning your division, something Detroit has not done in over 20+ years and have sandbox fights with the other fans of the NFC North who always have alot to say. Just ask Jimmy Smith.

The Giants have no problem playing in prime time, however their fans despise any game later than 1pm because they have to be in bed by 8pm so they can get up at 4am, get to the early bird special at Country Kitchen Buffet and then walk around the mall for exercise.

Sure, believe the Pats are all done. Because we all know that what happens in the prior season is a great predictor of what happens next.
However, I don’t believe the Pats will win the crown this coming season as they are a young team, especially on D and will take another season or three depending how 2011 goes. But they’ll be competative. The Lions…I’m not so sure about them.

As a Lions fan I really wish for our one televised nationwide game it wouldn’t have been against the Patriots. We’re getting better but not yet. I have a feeling of us getting a beat down in this one.
But it’s ok. Sooner rather than later our team is finally turning around. Good job by Mayhew and Schwartz so far. Keep it going.
If the Lions are smart (please no jokes…LOL) then hopefully they take Okung in the draft. That would enable them to move Backus to his natural LG position and then the line would be instantly upgraded. Suh is a good option as well. Just depends on which side of the ball needs the immediate upgrade first. Obviously the playoffs are out this upcoming year so if you see a LT you can grab next year, maybe you take the beast at DT this year.
Oh well. I’m sure they know a hell of a lot more than any of us bloggers do.

To “That’s Barrett” and anyone else on “the Patriots are done” bandwagon.
They have a core of younger players who now have a year or more under them and the experience will show this season.
As for your kittens having the second pick – here’s something for you to think about. Because of the deals made in the recent past, the Patriots have 4 picks out of the first 53. Try to wrap your head around that when thinking about how much “the Patriots are done”.
