Mike Bell's agent assumes the Saints won't match offer sheet

In case Justin Fargas’ visit to New Orleans wasn’t a big enough clue, Mike Bell’s agent is already assuming the Saints won’t match the Eagles’ offer sheet.

“Mike’s going from one Super Bowl-caliber team to another,” his agent Josh Luchs said to the Philadelphia Daily News

We said in a few places Tuesday that the Saints weren’t likely to invest any guaranteed money in Bell, a player they didn’t seem especially eager to keep.

Bell should be a Philadelphia Eagle in six days; the only question now becomes who will the Saints pick up to replace him.

A relatively high draft pick at the position in April would indicate the team doesn’t expect Reggie Bush to remain a Saint in 2011.

The Saints WILL retain Bush for 2011. He means too much to Sean Payton’s offense regardless if he’s putting up 1000 yards rushing & receiving, he’s too important to the team period. No matter how much you want ‘em to leave, GET OVER IT and stop hating.
If he leaves, all we’d have is Pierre Thomas. Bush is the perfect complimentary back to PT so why would he leave? He’ll be resigned at an affordable price. The Saints are going DEFENSE the first few rounds, unless they’d grab Toby Gerhart in the 3rd round.

But shouldn’t the Saints keep Bell to “maintain their Super Bowl buzz”?

Anyone else notice how every article that mentions the Saints becomes an article about Bush? I think PFT has Bush envy.

No! Need to upgrade even if they were on that team. Otherwise, you’ll never improve.

If the Saints were really trying to improve, they would ditch Bush, and keep Bell and Sharper. I think Benson just likes have Kim Kardashian up in the owner’s box.

“maintain their Super Bowl buzz” was Florio’s excuse for why the Saints aren’t cutting Reggie Bush. Search for Reggie Bush on this site and you’ll see a March 12 article with that exact rationalization

    Send Bush to the Raiders.
    Sign Vargas

I think Benson just likes Kim Kardashian’s box. Everyone else has liked it.

Bell’s gone because he got tackled by the grass on the goal line after he had the wrong shoes/cleats on. Just ask Sean Peyton…I saw the disdain and heard it on the sideline during the SB Sound FX on NFL network. If he can’t pay attention for the biggest game of his life…

Saints can plug numerous players at RB for 3rd down needs.
If they sign Justin F, they wont miss a beat
