Chester Pitts will still make his visit to the 49ers

Free agent guard won’t be meeting with Scot McCloughan, but he will still make his scheduled free agent trip to San Francisco Thursday night, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The long-time Texans guard met with the Lions Thursday in Detroit.

Pitts is recovering from microfracture surgery and it’s unclear when he will be ready to play football again.

Why even bother? With all the turmoil surrounding the Niner organization, he should just hop right back on that plane and sign with Detroit.

Don’t know if Detroit would sign him. It would all depend on the doctor for me. If they think he will be ready then sign him up.
