Sponsored post: Sprint rolling out first 4G phone next week

11960.jpgSprint’s billion-dollar investment in ultra-fast mobile technology soon will be paying off.  Per multiple reports, Sprint will unveil the first-ever 4G phone next week.

The SuperSonic, made by HTC, will run on Sprint’s WiMax network, which currently is available in 27 U.S. cities — and which to date has been used to power wireless card for laptops.

The WiMax technology allows wireless devices to navigate the Internet at speeds more comparable to hard-wired computers.  It means that pages — like PFT’s mobile version — will load much more quickly.

Sprint, by the way, is the official telecommunications partner of ProFootballTalk.com.  Later this month, we’ll celebrate the four-year anniversary of our partnership with Sprint.  And it remains the moment at which we converted from a part-time, fly-by-night, throw-it-against-the-wall operation to a full-time, fly-by-night, throw-it-against-the-wall operation.

speaking of your mobile website, it needs some work. NBC needs to get with the times and configure it to detect when someone is accessing PFT with a touchscreen mobile phone and have an adaptable interface for it.

i just wish i could read and leave comments on my sprint phone. when’s nbc going to fix that? the best part of pft is the readers comments. we’re not all sitting at a desk reading pft on a pc or laptop, florio, some of us use our phones for all our pft needs.

Way to stick it to APPLE?? I guess you missed the lawsuit being thrown down by APPLE against HTC for violating 20 different patents from the iPhone…..BTW, the iPhone CAN make comments on PFT!

    1. Sprint just lost the NFL package they had for subscribers to Verizon. Starting April, that program I believe will be done.
    2. This phone will be incredibly impressive if they rumored specs are accurate. If not; you can always get the NexusOne from Google for Sprint.
    3. Think what you want about HTC with Apple’s lawsuit, but for what it’s worth, Apple should never have been granted a majority of those patents.

I have nothing against HTC or Sprint for that matter, but seriously…..LOOK AT THAT PHONE! It looks EXACTLY like the Iphone, save three extra buttons. I am just sick of all these phone co.s trying to play catch up with APPLE, cus they made a great product that actually works. Go invent something new! Make the NEXT iPhone, not ANOTHER iPhone!
One thing the NFL needs to do is wise up and stop giving exclusive contracts to Co.’s like Sprint and Direct TV (which no one uses!) And they need to make an APP like the MLB app that allows for streaming live games! But make it cross-platform! Not everyone that watches the NFL has a Sprint phone! The NFL is stupid for not trying to include ALL OF THEIR FANS!
