We thought that there would be no further items to add to the Baby Mason auction.
We thought wrong.
On the same day that it became even more clear that yours truly will be hanging out in the broadcast booth with Paul Allen and Pete Bercich of the Vikings radio network on the evening of September 9 in New Orleans, our friends in Minnesota came up with an excellent addition to our 34-item collection: Four tickets to any Vikings regular-season home game, with four pregame sideline passes.
The package has a value of $500; we’ve added for this item a “buy it now” option for $1,500. Otherwise, you’ve got 24 hours to bid on the thing.
UPDATE: Within an hour, someone plunked down $1,500 for the tickets, after some impromptu auctioneering by yours truly on our Twitter page. (And if you don’t follow us on Twitter, what the hell is wrong with you?)
I just saw coverage on Tebow at NFL.com and they showed Spielman talking to him.
In all honesty I see Tebow being drafted late in the first or early in the second round, no later.
I love you Florio. I am gonna bid on this thing. Lastly, mnmaverick PLEASE OH PLEASE Do NOT let Tebow come to Minnesota. He has bust written all over him.
See the Twitter updates, you must have a celebruity Viking fan making bids to support the cause. Not sure if Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis follow the Vikes like they do with the Wolves, but I know Jesse Ventura, Al Franken, Prince, Brock lesnar and a few others are big fans.
I keep reading up how the libbies don’t like Tebow because he’s religious and they think he rants about religion too much. We, the middle class and poor, listen to liberal celebrities in Hollywood, the music industry, professional sports, the media, etc. tell us who we are suppose to vote for, what causes we are supposed to support, etc. while always supporting the candidate of the left who raises our taxes and flies of the handle with ir-responsible government spending.
So, don’t tell me about a few kind words from Tim Tebow.
Florio,
I am sure the local Mpls companies are most appreciative of your efforts to sell Viking tickets but just a suggestion, you could have timed the effort closer to when they are facing yet another blackout and begin to twist the arms of 3-M or General Mills to buy up the unsold block so the Fox station can broadcast the game to all the latecomers to the bandwagon.
Thanks JimmySmith for buying those tickets. Its for a good cause.
Congratulations

Was there ever any question who these folks were voting for? How do they relate to the middle class and poor? Making hundreds of thousands, if not millions each year, while living in Beverly Hills, Bel Aire, Penthouses on Park Ave., etc.
Telling you how to think, how to vote, what should be important to you, etc. all the while throwing their spare pocket change of hundreds of thousands if not millions into fundraising for the democrat and putting their face in yours on TV, on-line, etc. to whitewash the minds of the America’s youth and others who think if celebs are voting this way, I should too. Making it all like a campaign for Class President rather than focussing on what’s important for them as individuals and the political impact the candidates’ plans will have on their lives.
Tim Tebow is more than welcome in get a few words in there.
Thank God maverick turned this thread into a one-sided political argument. It was doomed for failure.
I don’t even remember the last time Minnesota had any widespread blackout. The worst we usually get is caused my inclement weather, I certainly don’t remember anyone just running out of money so the power shut off, lol.
You’re probably thinking of California, or something. =P
LOL@jimicos
He decided to put his soapbox in a deserted dead end.
JimmySmith, are you angry because the Vikings are supporting a good cause and your Packers ignore it?
Am I the only person who finds Queen fans beating their skinny chests about using somebody elses QB to win a couple games just a little…well, sort of pathetic??
This is as lame as Yankee fans trying to convince us what great “heart” it took for their team to win the world series.
He won you 2 more games than TJack did and choked away ANOTHER shot at the SB.
Everybody can see this for the disaster it is – why can’t you ??
Neither, just trying to make a logical suggestion so the Mpls fans can watch the vikings on TV without having the players go on TV to beg them to buy tickets, oh sorry, that was two years ago and a playoff game to boot.
no worries, come 2012, we will both be watching the Packers on Mpls local stations and then we don’t have to fret about ticket sales.
“(And if you don’t follow us on Twitter, what the hell is wrong with you?)”
Well, I for one am not pandering for attention nor is my life so void I have to follow others, so I don’t use twitter.
But glad to see raising money for a niece is ok, but signing autographs for charity is not. It’s a blessing
Jimmy: How much internet time do they give you on Shutter Island? I am sure the other patients are pissed of that you spend your entire life posting on Vikings topics and obsessing about the state Minnesota.
