Eagles let Babin fly the coop

As expected, the Philadelphia Eagles have decided not to match the one-year offer sheet that defensive end Jason Babin recently signed with the Titans.

Per Dave Spadaro of the Eagles’ official web site, the team has advised the league that the offer will not be met.

Babin agreed to give the Eagles a right of first refusal when signing a contract in 2009. He appeared in 12 games, and he registered 2.5 sacks.

A first-round draft pick of the Texans in 2004, Babin now returns to the AFC South. He was a full-time starter in his rookie year only, and his time in Houston ended after only three seasons.
