The UFL’s Hartford Colonials have announced their full coaching staff. Among the names is a familiar one: Tony Sparano.
It’s not the Dolphins’ head coach; it’s his son.
Sparano Jr. will be the assistant defensive line coach. His dad laid the foundation for an NFL head-coaching career by tutoring offensive linemen.
Also on the staff is our old friend Dave Ragone, former Louisville quarterback and Texans backup whose radio show I periodically invaded, and former Patriots tight ends coach Shane Waldron. Ragone will coach reicevers and quarterbacks; Waldron will coach tight ends.
Ted Daisher, the Eagles’ special teams coordinator in 2009, will coach the Colonials’ defensive line.
As previously announced, “retired” Giants quarterbacks coach (and former Browns head coach) Chris Palmer will serve as head coach of the Colonials. Ted Cottrell coached the franchise in 2009, when it was known as the New York Sentinels.
I was surpsied to see the head coaches in the UFL included not only Chris Palmer, but Dennis Green and Jim Fassal as well.
A.J. got a job in the UFL? He was always so unmotivated.
New Dolphins-Themes explicative “Son of a Sparano”…it’ll catch on.
I should make one for every team.
“I’m about to Jack del Rio you up”… Not sure if that’s a good thing?
“I’m sorry… did you just get Roethlisbergered?”…Absolutely sure that’s not a good thing.
Okay nevermind I can’t come up with anymore and have to go to class.
Ya Whops like keeping the same names in the family.
@ross’ssweetminus . . .
yes, those eye-talians are the only ones who do that.
signed, george herbert walker bush
I’m George Foreman and his sons would agree with Ross as well.
Did Sporano buy Sporano Jr. a drum set and blog about it all he time on the Dolphins web site? ‘Cause eye-tallians are known to do that, too.
