Thanks for helping us raise nearly $17,000 for Baby Mason

The auction for the benefit of Baby Mason ended an hour ago, and the final tally shows $16,480 in gross proceeds.

Peter King recently advised us that he’ll offer a set of two Red Sox tickets to the person who finished second in the bidding, at the amount of the second-place bid. If bidder is interested, the total proceeds will increase to $16,980.

We’re incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support from teams like the Lions, Vikings, Eagles, Dolphins, Falcons, 49ers, Browns, Chiefs, Broncos, Jaguars, Rams, and Redskins, players like Brian Waters, Boomer Esiason, and T.J. Houshmandzadeh, and our friends at NBC, who donated two of the signed jerseys.

And here’s a great exclamation point on the experience -- a donor who has asked to remain anonymous purchased for $1,000 the Super Bowl XLIII football signed by Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, with an express instruction that the ball be given to Mason.

Over the next year, we’ll be on the lookout for another worthy cause, and we’ll possibly do it all again next year. Until then, all of you get a free subscription to PFT -- including the guy who paid $2 for one in the auction.
