An article in Friday’s Philadelphia Daily News about running back LeSean McCoy mentions that the Eagles running back has been working out with free agent Brian Westbrook.
Oh yeah, Brian Westbrook. Remember him?
We haven’t heard a peep about the Villanova product since February 27, when Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Baltimore would be interested in him.
But the Ravens backfield is well-stocked, and the rest of the NFL is clearly hesitant to invest in Westbrook because of his medical issues. McCoy said he doesn’t talk about Westbrook’s future with his mentor.
After the silence that has accompanied Westbrook in free agency thus far, it seems fair to wonder if he has a future in the NFL at all.
