The annual league meetings will be held in New Orleans in March 2011, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
It’s the first time in memory the Crescent City will play host to the March meetings. (Apparently, I got here a year early.) Usually, the meetings take place at an expensive resort.
With labor unrest likely boiling over at this time next year, the choice of New Orleans is canny.
If players and owners need any reminder how important football is to this country, they can take a quick stroll around a city in which every other edifice, car, and body part has some sort of Saints memorabilia attached.
Or perhaps the owners just wanted the media distracted by all the food and drink.
