The Baylor basketball team reached the Sweet 16 Saturday in New Orleans with the help of two Saints coaches and one lucky charm.
Linebackers coach Joe Vitt and secondary coach Dennis Allen gave the Baylor team a speech Thursday and handed over the “Bring the Wood” baseball bat the Saints carried with them onto the field during the playoffs.
“You know we want to thank the Saints nation, the coaching staff and the players for allowing us to be a part of their bat club,” Saints fan and Baylor player Tweety Carter told the New Orleans Times-Picayune. “We’re gonna hold it with honor and we’re going to continue to come out and fight for them, for our fans and for this program.”
