@ mattraider,
Agree 100% that McClain probably won't be Al's choice...He almost NEVER takes LBs in round one.
Also agree with you that if we could get one of the top two DLs or top two OTs at #8 that would be great, but if none of those guys are available (a possibility), I hope the Raiders either take McClain (best player still available at a NEED position in round one and look OT or DT in round two) or try and trade down to a team looking for a QB (like the Jets did for Sanchez last year) ESPECIALLY if the Rams DO NOT take Bradford.
Taking a marginal talent like Campbell, a head case like Davis appears to be, or ANOTHER safety (aka Taylor Mays) doesn't really address the fact that we need blue chip talent RIGHT NOW to plug into the OL and DL to shore up our HORRIBLE line play.
If Suh&McCoy (DTs) and Okung&Williams (OTs) are ALL gone by #8 then I hope Al breaks with his normal tendency (just he appears to have done with Free Agency) and either takes the best player at a need position still availabe or trades back to add picks (especially since #1 in 2011 is already in the Patriot's hands).
Anyway...Understand it is all a crap shoot anyway until the Rams decided what to do (draft Bradford, trade for McNabb, etc.).

Raiderredleg. I know the needs , you know the needs a mf blindman can see the needs, im just saying that i dont expect those needs (OT,DT,MLB) to be addressed that early in the draft. Two years ago i wanted Clady and we drafted Mcfadden (not that i dislike Dmac and i beleive him and Mike Bush will be solid this year if avoiding injuries). Last year it was reported we were looking at cal center Mack and i had this crazy thought that we were considering trading back and picking up him along with a wide reciever for giving up our high pick. Both lines have been neglected in the draft for far too long and ideally I would like trent Williams or Okung but one of them has too fall to us. some people are saying Baluga but i cant see al drafting another cant miss Tackle from Iowa.

Raiders don't normally take LBs in the first round, but looking at ILB Rolando McClain's draft bio he should looks like he would fill a MAJOR need for the Raiders (i.e. a run stuffing LB). #8 is high, but after taking offense the last three years (Russell, DMAC, DHB) I would hope Al Davis goes defensive.
-------------------------------------------
Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama
Height: 6-3⅜ | Weight: 249 | 40-Time: 4.68
Strengths:
Ideal height and bulk with long arms… Fantastic Football IQ …Superb instincts and awareness… Will diagnose and react to the action quickly… Tough, physical and aggressive…Agile with nice balance and body control …Terrific strength…Reliable tackler who can deliver the big hit… Stout against the run …Able to take on and shed blockers…Uses his hands well …Fluid and more than holds his own in coverage… Solid pass rusher and blitzer…Hard Worker…Team Leader …Top pedigree…Lots of experience against elite competition.
Weaknesses:
Sufficient, but not exceptional, speed and athleticism …Range is somewhat limited …Doesn't always play with proper pad level…May not be as effective in pursuit at the next level…Average hands and ball skills…Some issues in space…Has health / durability concerns.
Notes:
A three-year starter for the Crimson Tide…Named 1st Team All-SEC in 2008 and 2009…A unanimous 1st Team All-American in 2009 …Won the Butkus Award as the nation's top linebacker in 2009…Served as a team captain as a junior…Suffers from Crohn's Disease, a disorder that causes inflammation of the digestive tract…Has proven he will play through illness and injuries …Led what was arguably the most talented defense in the country and was a standout… Could excel in either a 3-4 or 4-3 scheme but best fit may come in an odd front…A magnificent all-around player who is effective against both the run and pass while serving as an extra coach on the field… A true football player with adequate physical tools and top-notch intangibles…Could very easily emerge as one of the premier inside linebackers in the NFL.

@ chickenragnar,
After seeing DHB going so high last year I know ANYTHING is possible! Just don't see Brown jumping ahead of the usual names your read about (Okung, Davis, Williams, Bulaga, etc.). As dacolan stated above Brown is a smallish, ZBS type guy so the number of teams interested in Brown is smaller than if he were a prototypical size OT (LT or RT).
Anyway if Bradford goes #1 and the Lions or Bucs DO NOT take Suh and McCoy (or vice versa) #2 and #3 I bet you will see someone try and trade up to grab one of them.

The Giants are going to try as hard as they can to trade back if Rolando McClain is taken before 15. I dont think they'll take a O-lineman at 15 unless its Trent Williams or Bryan Bulaga, they took Hakeem Nicks because when they brought him in for a private workout he didnt drop a pass and we definitely couldnt go into last year without a Wideout but we arent that desperate about replacing Kareem McKenzie, they might take a Olinemen in the second round but no way they take Anthony Davis at 15 I'll throw up in my mouth if thats what they do. Go Giants

Raider:
I'd check the date of that draft site. I have a draft magazine that was printed a while back.
Before the workouts etc.
Most mocks I see have Brown as a mid to high 1st rounder.
Just an FYI

@ mattraider,
Just don't see them drafting ANOTHER safety... would rather see them take an OT instead...Besides if they go defense with #8 DL and LB is a bigger need to TRY and shore up their awful run defense.
@ dacolan,
Valid points on Brown, but still NO WAY he goes #8...As far as Seattle taking him, if Pete Carrol is willing to give up as much as he did for Charlie Whitehurst, then he DEFINITELY might reach for Brown at #14. But a pass rushing DE is a bigger need for them and their should be good DE value at #14 (they can always go OT in the second round...Deep draft for OT prospects).

@ dacolan,
Valid points on Brown, but still NO WAY he goes #8…As far as Seattle taking him, if Pete Carrol is willing to give up as much as he did for Charlie Whitehurst, then he DEFINITELY might reach for Brown at #14. But a pass rushing DE is a bigger need for them and their should be good DE value at #14 (they can always go OT in the second round…Deep draft for OT prospects).

I think if Dez or CJ Spiller drop as low as you have them going, the Pack would consider taking them. Driver is getting old and Jordy Nelson hasnt panned out to be quite the WR that they thought he was going to be. Dez would add depth at WR and be a solid kick return option. Spiller helps us as a third down back and a kick returner
===============================
Really hope this happens. I hope TT continues to neglect the weak areas on the team. OL, aging DB's. That would be spectacular.

No way does Miss Childress draft a quarterback of the future in Minnesota. The old man cannot stand any hint that he will eventually not be playing football, and Bradley doesn't have the balls to do it.
And yes, Vikings fans will say that they will be smart to bolster the roster with a first round pick. But still, that doesn't deny the fact that the Vikings under Childress are unable to find a NFL-caliber QB to develop. That's why they brought in the 'Future' (as Prince calls him) to throw INTs at the worst possible times.
Good luck Vikings fans. The Packers sloppy-seconds will blow it again this year. And you won't have Clausen to develop.
===============================
Tard:
They won't be drafting a QB, 1st round.
They will go DB or DT.
Not because Favre said so, but because there are areas of need.
Packers sloppy seconds? Really?!
How's Bing Crosby doing kicking for you?
It's a coin toss whether he makes it or not.
Favre? Well hell, He was a sloppy second from the Falcons when the pack had him.
Then he went to the Jets.
I guess he's actually filthy fourths for us.
That line of reasoning is totally inane, but I expect inanity from pukes like you.
Your post is an absolute turd.

Any draft site listing Charles Brown as a third rounder lacks credibility. He'll go early second at the latest, and is widely projected to go late first. He was a first-team All-American and voted best OL in the PAC-10 by the defensive linemen and coaches. The only real knock on him is his size. He's probably only suited to a zone blocking scheme in the NFL like they play in Den (and are installing in Sea). I wouldn't be surprised to see Pete Carrol use #14 on Brown.

Below is what one draft site says about Charles Brown (BTW...They project him as a second or third rounder...If Al got killed for taking DHB last year early...Imagine how Kiper and McShay would tear into him if he took this guy at #8!
Height: 6-5⅜ | Weight: 303 | 40-Time: 5.20
Strengths:
Great height --- Really long arms --- Has a frame that can accommodate more weight --- Excellent athlete --- Quick and agile --- Nimble feet --- A natural knee bender --- Slides well laterally and can mirror --- Excels in pass pro --- Terrific range to pull and get to the second level --- Gives good effort --- Decent instincts and awareness --- Considerable upside.
Weaknesses:
Raw as a technician --- Needs to continue bulking up --- Not real tough or physical --- Isn't very strong --- Questionable balance --- Doesn't always use proper leverage --- Has trouble sustaining blocks --- Does not protect the edge as well as he should --- Isn't stout at the point of attack --- Will not get a huge push in the run game --- Lacks versatility.
Notes:
Was a two-year starter for the Trojans --- Named 1st Team All-Pac-10 in 2009 --- Began his college career as a 250 pound tight end but eventually made the move to the offensive line halfway through his redshirt season in 2005 --- Will most likely be limited to the left side at the next level as he really doesn't have the necessary skill set to play right tackle or guard --- An impressive physical specimen with loads of potential but hasn't quite put it all together yet --- Will require some patience / development but has the talent to be a blindside protector.
