Moss shows up for offseason workouts

Receiver Randy Moss began what he believes will be his last year as a member of the New England Patriots by showing up late last week for voluntary workouts, according to Jeff Howe of NESN.com, via Mike Reiss of ESPN.com.

Moss reportedly was “his same, jovial self.”  He also said he’s not troubled by the absence of quarterback Tom Brady, who was last seen boxing in Hollywood.

The only other high-profile member of the team not participating in the workouts is linebacker Adalius Thomas.

Moss made waves last month by claiming that he doesn’t think his contract will be extended, and by asserting that the “Patriots don’t really pay.”  Some (i.e., us) interpreted the comments as a not-so-subtle message:  give me security beyond 2010 or send me to a team that will.

“(i.e., us)” – I think I just heard Smith and Rosenthal say: “Wait…what? Us?” You also managed to take Wilfork’s reference to Moss as a team leader as a slight by Wilfork towards Moss’ leadership (?).

florio, i like your site and some of your comments, but seriously, dont try and pretend you know what someone is thinking. How do you know that he didnt say those comments to shake up kraft to get wilfork paid? that is just as far fetched as say, forcing his way back to minnesota. you just dont know, and guessing what he could be thinking and posting it on a site this big? careless. opinions, fine. mindreading? weak.

Come back to Minnesota! We need you Randy!
The media jackals that ran you out of town last time won’t do it again, lest they want to keep their jobs.

Of course, Florio spins it as Moss being “late,” even though they’re voluntary workouts and Belichick himself said he expects that not all of the players will be there at once. This obsession with making Moss look bad is getting ridiculous.

    New England sucks.
    The people suck.
    Their teams suck.
    The weather sucks.
    Everything about New England sucks.

Wait until the Pats lose some games….then the real fireworks will begin and Moss will get benched

I don’t get why people like to put words in Moss’ mouth. Him saying something could me…what he said. Not everything has a double meaning.

Hey, I heard a rumor that Brady has taken up boxing. I’ve yet to find any credible source confirm or even hint at this. Maybe you should point it out every 4 articles so that I’ll know if it’s true.

It’s always fun for people to knock Moss, Brady and Belichick.

Florio, you WVU lovers just can’t get over Moss snubbing you many years ago.

    Or you’re just illiterate……
“Receiver Randy Moss began what he believes will be his last year as a member of the New England Patriots by showing up late last week for voluntary workouts”
Late last week, as in late in the week, as opposed to early last week.

“I never had a problem with him, but he’s one of those guys where it’s always everybody else’s fault but his. They’ll find out Randy can’t run consistently anymore. He’ll drive [Tom] Brady and [Bill] Belichick crazy.”

It was just a matter of time, but i believe the prophecy is becoming true…Pats will see the real Randy Moss this year…

After he’s gone, the only thing I’m going to remember about Randy Moss is the indelible image of him walking off the field before the game ended.
[During the last game of the 2004 regular season against the Washington Redskins and with two seconds remaining on the game clock, Moss walked off the field and into the locker room; critics criticized Moss for quitting on his team]

Man would it be nice to see #84 in Purple again!!! It would be a perfect pairing with the Silver Fox (who’s made it known that he’d love to throw to Randy). Plus, the Vikes and Pats are going in opposite directions and all Randy wants at this point is a ring. New ownership in MN, so no hard feelings there. And the fans still have a ton of love for #84. It all fits!
Keep making waves in NE and those stubborn fools will let you go. And Viking fans will continue to hope and pray.
    Favre + AP + Moss + Rice + Harvin = EXPLOSION!!!!
