Owners will discuss expanding OT change into regular season

Well, things have certainly changed in a hurry regarding changes in overtime’s format.

On Monday, most folks thought it had little chance to pass.  Now it has been approved and owners already are thinking about expanding the change to include the regular season.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report the owners will discuss the issue in May, and possibly vote to include the new overtime rules in the 2010 campaign.

Meanwhile, somewhere in West Virginia, Florio and Brocato are taping PFTV at the very moment Florio’s overtime baby is born.  Peter King, the other proud parent, is beaming in Boston.

Let’s end this post before it gets any stranger.

Any human produced by Mike Florio and Peter King would be Defcon 1-ugly, just like this overtime garbage.

Good thing they’re testing this change during games that don’t count.

    “Florio’s overtime baby is born”
Oh. So THIS is what this is all about. Florio’s like Obama, determined to get something done even if it amounts to garbage.
Dream on, this will never be anointed “The Florio Rule”. When will you out-of-touch media types stop trying to shape EVERYTHING to suit you?

    Gregg,
In all seriousness what happens in the event of a safety? Technically the offense is on the field so had the chance to score… does that mean the game is over, just like under the old rule?

The only thing this rule would accomplish in the regular sason is to have more tie gasmes. A better change would be to just move the kick-off to the 40.

So, Florio is the retard frog-squirrel and King is a monkey-fish-frog?

They should use it in reg. season. That way there would be a few games to shake out any strategic bugs before the SB
