A thread with the closest reference to a Viking or Favre being the use of Percy Harvin’s name and mentioning that he’s a reciever, and yet it devolves in to a Favre thread. DON’T YOU SEE WHY THERE ARE SO MANY FAVRE STORIES?! BECAUSE YOU CLICK ON AND COMMENT ON EVERY SINGLE ONE, IF YOU DON’T LIKE THE GUY WHY DO YOU FOLLOW EVERY MOVE HE MAKES?
Frankly, I love the guy. I hope he’s enjoying his summer in Hattiesburg with a chair, a cooler, and his Packer/Saints themed urinal cakes. We love ya Brett see ya in August(if you feel like it =) Week 1 is ok too!)

Please explain how moving from CB to WR is moving from one eligible position to another.

Dallas Clark received #44 when he signed with the Colts because all of the 80′s were either taken or retired.
And, apparently, the league gave special consideration in those days for instances such as that and Tight Ends could take #’s in the 40′s. By the same token receivers could take #’s in the teens before it became the rule it is today if there were no numbers in the 80′s available.
You’ll notice the Colts also have Gijon Robinson and Justin Snow on their roster who are also TE’s with #’s in the 40′s.
FYI: Retired #’s in the 80′s for the Colts are Hall of Famers Raymond Berry (#82) and Gino Marchetti (#89)
You’ll also notice many of the Colts receivers have “teens” numbers so that while Dallas Clark was legal when he joined the team, for some reason he didn’t have to change back when a number opened.
Justin Snow (Longsnapper for the Colts, and officially a tight end) has been #48 since 2000 and has never been forced to change back either.
