Pats officially pick up Crumpler

With no experienced tight ends on their roster after the release of Chris Baker and the departure of Benjamin Watson, the Patriots now officially have one.

Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald reports that the teams has now officially signed tight end Alge Crumpler.

Last Thursday, it was reported that Crumpler told the Titans he’s under contract with New England. Still, the move has not yet been announced by the team.

The four-time Pro Bowler, thanks in large part to the fact that he served as Mike Vick’s safety valve, has spent the last two seasons with the Titans. He caught 51 passes during that time, five fewer than he did in his final Pro Bowl season of 2006.
