Brown narrowly missed oncoming vehicle

More details have come out from Ronnie Brown’s police report, this time broken down by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Brown twice drifted into the lane of oncoming traffic, at one point “narrowly missing an approaching southbound vehicle” as he drove his BMW.  He was arrested for DUI last Friday.

The running back has a spotless previous record, which could help him avoid a league suspension.  But news like this coming out won’t help his case.

He’s got millions, why can’t he (and other athlete’s) just get a cab? Why don’t regular stiffs just get a cab?

Hey Florio…why don’t you give us some useful behoind the scenes insight: like what really happened between Scot McCloughan and the 40ers. Why is the media being so hush hush on why Scot was dismissed…what are the ‘personal issues’ that precipitated this move at such a bad time for the 49ers? YOU speculate on so many other non-football isues; why not give us the poop on what happened in the 49ers FO…

Dr Hollywood- please tell me you were joking when you pulled the race card??? If not, why don’t you ask someone who’s had a loved one killed by a drunk driver if they give a sh*# if the driver was black, white, or any other race.

After numerous other DUIs and then the Stallworth incident, Goodell needs to take control of the situation. Brown should sit out a year and learn to take control of his life, like Anthony Hargrove did. He will be better in the long run if he gets a one year suspension now.

Why would it hurt his case? If he was pulled over for suspicion of DUI, it is implied that he was driving erratically in some way, or he wouldn’t have been pulled over in the first place.

i am a battle hardened alcoholic. if i took the test and blew a 2x over the limit you can bet your ass the cops would ream me a new ass-hxxx. he is a young man that is in all likely hood not an alcoholic. this is why i have a major issue with this story. he could have killed somebody.

with his money,,i would get drunk with my limo driver just so he can hire another limo driver to drive us home safley, and then once all 3 got home,i would offer the second limo driver a couple of shots, then pay for him to get his own driver to his house,,,,i know this was stupid, but it just goes to say,he has waaaaay too much money to be risking everything on something so meaningless,i heard there is even a free service[started by lorenzo neil] that will pick them up anywhere, for free, crazy!!!

  15. Smoking Joe says: Mar 25, 2010 10:08 PM

Good thing he didn’t kill somebody. He could get up to 24 days in jail for that.

@ Dr. HollywoodWags: WHAT?! Surely, you are joking. I lived in the WHITEST shore town area of New Jersey, and there is a ZERO tolerance for it. But to placate you, yeah, you’re probably right…It’s a whole black/white thing.

this is accepted behavior in white people’s areas. This guy is being unfairly persecuted.
Dr Hollywood RAGS… First off White People don’t drive around drunk and not get arrested.. Quit being ignorant. You have a race issue you are the problem. America has gotten over it so much so that our President is Black oh by the way Doc he got voted in!!! In addition I don’t think I a white man could drive down the street drunk hit a man and kill him and spend 30 days in Jail and get out! That has happened with high paid athletes so Ronnie Brown has no worries.

Henne didnt set a good example……..Need to draft Tebow to straighten this team out.

  30. Dolphinatic says: Mar 26, 2010 1:57 AM

Also you would think he would have learned from Pat White cause he must have been drunk to put his head down and make a run like that in the pro game. I like Pat White ALOT (not that theres anything wrong with that, lol) but he needs to hit the weights. Imagine Henne thinks Tebow isn’t a pro what does he think of White, let alone the fastest waterboy on the planet Ted Ginn IV

I mean he drove drunk one time, let’s cut the guy some slack and realize that people make mistakes. I am not justifying what he did but I am certainly willing to say that he deserves the benifit of the doubt here. Young people make decisions that are ill-fated regularly and we chalk it up to youthful indiscretion I think this guy should be able to play still and I think we should back off him.

Hello, alcohol impairs judgement. No sane person sits downs and thinks I’ll a drink fifth of Jack and then drive safely home.
Nope it starts out slowly. You get a little tipsy drive home and all is good. Then you do it again and again. Next thing you know you are weaving into oncoming traffic.
“First time”?, I love to be a fly on the wall as you try to explain that comment to someone who lost a loved one by a drunk driver. Give him the benefit of the doubt. What doubt? He was TWO times over the legal limit. There should be ZERO tolerance for driving drunk.
