Niners not interested in Pacman

We realize that the retention of a small army of NFL reporters will cause periodic inconsistencies in reporting.  But that doesn’t mean we won’t be pointing it out when it happens.

In an item from “ESPN.com news services,” agent Ray Savage says that the Lions, 49ers, and Bengals have expressed “great interest” in Jones.  But Mike Sando of ESPN.com reports that the 49ers say they aren’t interested.

The stories aren’t technically contradictory; Savage is simply wrong.  But the item indicating that the 49ers are interested currently has prominent placement on the ESPN.com front page.  It might be a good idea to give Sando’s reporting on this a slightly higher profile.

We continue to stand by our report that Pacman believes he has a deal with the Lions, and that the deal will be announced next week.  Unless the Lions scuttle those plans in light of the fact that word of the move got out.

Are you reporting this with the same voracity as you did that Pacman had signed with the Lions only the Lions weren’t reporting it until next Tuesday? I mean because letting everyone know next Tuesday is going to make such a huge difference than on a Friday.

Big surprise. You’d have to be pretty desperate to seriously consider giving this guy a shot.
I’d like to believe that Adam Jones will get it together and make a good name for himself, but Pacman will always haunt him.

What difference does it make whether other teams find out about the move? The Lions either want him or they don’t…….

    Exactly LionsFan!

Of course they’re not interested. The first time Singletary dropped his pants, Pacman would start stuffing singles down his coach’s drawers…awkward!

I can’t imagine Singletary putting up with that piece of shit. Good for the Niners.
…Singletary and Rex should do some kind of segment every week. The two of them would be awesome.

Can’t believe this guy is getting back in the league. I don’t see how what he brings on the field is possibly worth the trouble that comes with him.

And I am not interested in him either.

    Florio,
So you are saying that Pacman’s agent is WRONG about who is interested, but you are absolutely RIGHT that he will sign with the Lions on Tuesday? You mention all the time that agents, coaches, and GM’s are liars. As a loyal reader, I trust your sources and believe that there is a good chance Pacman will sign with the Lions. If that is the case, maybe the 49ers are denying interest because they lost out. Or maybe you are wrong and Savage is trying to create leverage. Why are you so certain that Mike Sando is right when he says the 49ers have no interest? Is it because he is one of your sources and you need to talk him up to keep him as a source? Just wondering, because you seem to contradict yourself lately.

Pacman will never be confused with a Rhodes scholar.
He also was telling everyone he would re-sign with the Cowboys a while back. Not exactly the most intelligent, or reliable source.
And hey… what kind of trouble could a guy find in Detroit anyway? Really? Such a high IQ and high character guy… surrounded by a strong team in a safe city, and scrip clubs across the border in Windsor… what could happen?
Yep. This makes sense for the Lions.

The guy ordered the shooting of a man and smashed a strippers face into a stage. This “person” is a menace to society. I thought he was in prison…but I guess he’s out, or never went.

I would like to sign Pacman if he can get back in “football shape” he would be great depth at a minimum price…
