How are you comparing fanbases between Pittsburgh and a city with a population 20-some times the size of it? The Rangers could lose every game every year and enough morons would still pay to watch them to keep the team financially afloat simply because the region has the population to support it. It doesn’t even make sense to compare the two.

Why have the Penguins in the game again already? The NHL has already screwed up by having 2 teams from northern cities every year instead of having a northern team face a team from the south where they can’t host a Winter Classic. Now they are already doubling up on a team? Come on now Bettman, get your head out of your *SS and just play the game in Washington, where is should be cold enough and where you likely don’t need to worry about the football team making the playoffs. Have the Capitals host a team like the Kings or Sharks or even Tampa for that matter so you don’t need to worry about using a potential host team as the vistors.

I love the irony of it. 95% of the morons who make an effort to run their mouths about the Steelers either (a) have poorer grammar and written communication proficiency than my 4-year-old niece, or (b) are fans of teams that are 10 times worse off with regard to the things they criticize the Steelers about (i.e., Ravens fans running their mouths about Steeler legal issues). I understand that people sometimes don’t think before they talk, but you at least have the chance to read what the garbage you spout out before clicking Submit.
As for the Winter Classic, I would be stoked to see it in Pittsburgh. At the same time, if it were to actually happen, I can understand fans of other teams being annoyed about this. Three years is a quick turnaround given the available options.

Uh, you don’t have to be a wildcard team to play on Wildcard weekend. Two division winners on each side play the two wildcard teams on each side.

I may be biased, as I’m a Rangers fan, but it only makes sense to have on the more popular teams hosting the Winter Classic. I would love it if the Rangers got such a chance.
I love the Winter Classic, so in the end, it doesn’t matter who’s playing as long as it’s played somewhere really cold and snowy looking.
It seems like it would make more sense if the game was played in the Pirates baseball stadium to avoid any scheduling controversy with the NFL.
