Lifelong Steeler fan. I don’t have daughters but I do have a mother, stepmother, sisters, nieces, aunts, cousins, friends and a girlfriend.
You’re right. On a personal level the Steelers can do much better than this jerk. But look at the facts of this story. The facts. This guy is ACCUSED of “sexual assault”. There has been no clear description released as to what he supposedly did to this young woman. She’s drunk enough at the hospital to show a blood alcohol level of .20+. Officials in Georgia no longer want a DNA sample from Ben.
He’s building a personal monument to asshole behavior. I just don’t think that he’s actually guilty of anything other than being a tool.

Hate to dispute a father’s magical ability to discern guilt in the absence of evidence, but … there is an absence of evidence. And I’d like to make sure your girls are protected from real predators, not imaginary ones. The facts so far:
Nevada: Accused had sex with hotel employee. A year later she filed $3 million civil suit claiming rape. Police said there’s no evidence a crime occurred. At least one person has said in sworn affidavit she bragged about sex w/accused and said she hoped she was pregnant. Her time-stamped text messages dated two days after the alleged assault talk of looking forward to seeing accused at a VIP dinner. Other parts of her story also conflict.
Georgia: Accused and his party met accuser and her party out clubbing. Sometime later, she approached a police officer and said the accused “sexually manipulated” her. Police have said there was no rape and no semen on the accuser. We don’t know what she’s alleging he did. Police have released nothing further. She, too, has hired a civil litigator to pursue money.
So … right now all the authorities have released are two unsubstantiated accusations and no evidence of wrongdoing. But you’ve got him convicted and everyone else is “blind.” Uh-huh.

I’ll admit it, I kinda like the Steelers at times.
But I also have three attractive daughters.
I’ve had big dumb jock types hanging around my house for years trying to date my girls. I can spot this type of “worship me” jerkwads a mile away.
Big Ben is a scumbag egotistical bully who thinks he can take whatever he wants. And the dick-hole fans who stick by him no matter what are not any better.
Attacking the victim(s) and blindly defending this sexual predator does nothing for the Steeler image.
Steelers can do better. Much better.

One of the BIG reasons why Ben appears to look so good has been the defense. OMG, that defense is unbelieveable, except last year.
Tomlin is doing NOTHING with his “kids”. Cowher would have chewed these guys up one side and down the other. Where’s Ben, crawled into his little hole I’m guessing. I doubt he shows up for mandatory practice. I’m sure the Rooneys’ are steaming hot about this! They’ll make excuses for him and he’ll get hurt this year. Prediction only. No, I’m sorry, that is NOT how the business works. For one thing, reporter/blogger are not synonymous. Florio is not a reporter. He isn’t sourcing stories–going out like Shefter and other reporters, building contacts, checking facts, getting the scoop. He’s a blogger who gathers material from other news sites, mixes in his own commentary, and posts it to generate page clicks. It’s a legitimate business–but it isn’t journalism.
Beat reporters like Shefter build their reputations on being right. Their league sources have to be reliable and are often confirmed by secondary sources before they go with the material. Even so, sometimes they get the story wrong. Get it wrong too often, and they’re out of a job. That’s why Shefter can’t gamble on running with every bit of nonsense he hears. Blogging is a different world. Florio’s job is to generate page clicks. It doesn’t matter if the info is fact, gossip, or silly speculation.
Different businesses. Different objectives. Different standards.

At Least you can’t cry RACISM like you did with Kordell Stewart!! Steeler Fans have called Roethlisberger everything under the sun and have completely shunned this guy for his actions. I could care less if he was let go tomorrow! He and his Devil shirt can go to Arizona with wisenhunt and grimm for all I care! The Steelers will still be a DAMN good team and guess what I’d still take Dennis Dixon over half of the Quarterbacks in the Steelers division!! Carson Palmer = Crap! Browns QB’s are a disaster! Flacco would be the only hurdle that Tomlin and Dixon would have to overcome and IT CAN BE DONE!! Dennis Dixon did about the same as Big Ben did when he played his first game against the Ravens! The defense LOST that game not Dixon! Yeah the interception was his fault but the Steelers Defense put Dixon in some precarious situations all night long! I predict The Steelers go 11-5 or 10-6 3 out of the first 5 seasons with Dixon and Big Ben becomes a distant memory! Once again I’ll take Dennis Dixon over 90% of the QB’s currently in the AFC North!!

“On my Twitter page, people have been hitting me up telling me to tell Ben to stay out of nightclubs and keep him this, this and that. I’m like he’s a grown man, he’s entitled to do whatever he wants to do.” S.H.
Maybe it’s long past time for the Steelers to make a statement that suggestion they’re entitled to expect their high-paid employees to act like grown men who wear their heads on their shoulders and not up their butts–a statement like cutting these jerks.

The Steelers have always been a running team. Just recently they have been in the air. Bruce Ariens got chewed out by the Rooneys about them throwing so much. Poor Willie, they screwed him over. Mendenhall is “Mr. Fumble”…what a waste of a draft pick. Mewelde Moore kicks his butt!
I hope Ben is gone. Cut him before the real money kicks in. His image is tarnished anyways. He’ll be remembered as a QB with 2 SB rings – and didn’t he rape some girls? The Steelers are interested in Leftwich again but he would have to be released from the Bucs.

Nevada incident – psycho gold digger (burn);
Georgia incident – drunken co-ed and would-be gold digger (burn in hell).
When it’s all said and done, we’ll hoist our 7th Lombardi (Big Ben’s 3rd) before a bunch of teams hoist their 1st (or 2nd).
