Here’s one…..
Three guys are walking throught the woods. One is wearing a Ravens hat, one is wearing a Browns hat and one is wearing a Steelers hat. They come across the dead body of a woman who is completely naked. Out of concern for her dignity the Ravens and Browns fans remove their caps and cover her breasts, and the Steelers fan places his cap over her pubic area. They use a cell phone to alert the police, and an officer arrives within the hour. He starts taking notes immediately upon arriving. He lifts up the Ravens cap, puts it down, makes a note. He lifts up the Browns hat, puts it down, makes a not. He lifts up the Steelers hat, puts it down, then pauses. He scratches his head, lifts up the cap again, and stares confusedly at the sight underneath. The Browns fan says “Officer, what seems to be the problem?” and the officer says “I’ve never seen anything like this before….usually all we find under a Steelers cap is an asshole.”

Here’s the thing, John, it wouldn’t matter to me if he were an NFL star or, say, some security guard working the Atlanta Olympics … you know, a chubby wannabe cop living with his mother and dreaming of being a hero.
Suddenly the guy spots a package that turns out to be a bomb. Convenient, huh? Finally gets to be the hero. Yeah, that’s suspicious. Of course some people–some few people whining about lack of evidence–lived in denial and refused to see the guy for who he was. But the good, decent people of the nation–the ones willing to listen to and spread every tidbit of gossip they heard … now those good people, they knew the real story.
So who is Ben Roethlisberger … really?
Well, he’s a talented QB who has dated several actresses, athletes, and models. He’s donated time and money to charity, fulfilled requests from Make-A-Wish kids, been elected a captain by his teammates, and been reported by restaurant owners and fans to be polite and accommodating.
And he’s a superstar athlete who has put himself into compromising situations, indulged himself with easy women, blown off charity requests, and behaved like a jackass to teammates, fans, and the public.
Neither of those descriptions says anything about whether he is a sexual abuser.
Incidentally, a donkey punch is usually associated with penetration, and the police have said the incident in Georgia was not a rape and no semen was found on the accuser. So the allegation in question–which has yet to be defined by any official connected with the case–did not include penetration.
Just out of curiosity, um, “cleric” … do you read any of the official information on this case or only the gossip? You know, the Bible damns gossipers in the same passage with fornicators.

Bottom line:
All the Big Ben haters would love for him to play for their team and they know it so who are they kidding.
A QB like Big Ben does not come along every day so yea I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt until he is convicted of a crime and I see nothing here but a lot of wishing that the Steelers drop him so your team can pick him up.
He is young and dumb but that’s not a crime people!
He’s a two-time SB champ for crying out loud and he’s only 28 years old…give me a freaking break…he’s NOT going anywhere!

I’m a huge, long time Steeler fan but I only care about the Rooney’s because they own the Steelers. I’m not a Steeler fan because of who owns the team. I do believe the Steelers standard are a little bit higher than most other teams but let’s not get carried away. I’d rather the Steelers win than root for a loser that has a bunch of angels on the sidelines. Ben is an elite QB. There’s not a lot of those out there. He has not been convicted of a damn thing yet. Big #7 will lead the Steelers to big #7 and I hope you will be cheering like I will.

I actually like the idea of McNabb in black and gold, and I’d bet McNabb would, too.
Here’s the thing—it all comes down to timing. What do the Steelers already know as a fact? While it’s doubtful they’d dump a player before criminal or civil proceedings, I could see them bringing a known entity like McNabb or Vick and basically saying to Roethlisberger that this season, at the very least, is shut down.
Or do you wait for Goodell?
There has to be a lot going on behind the scenes right now. I like Dixon, but he’s not the answer right now, nor is any draftee.

In other words, is this not a case of she said, he said? Let me get this straight….the Police said they TAPED over the security tape of the night in question? Like it or not, Steeler Nation’s roots start with the Rooney family and they don’t like being on “Page 1″ or this douchbag’s column.
