Hard to trade the guy when you overpay him and tell his agent that he will be traded or released. Once everyone hears that they know the writing is on the wall. Angelo is such a putz if he played his cards right he could have gotten a 4th or 5th rounder for him. He needs to learn what the Eagles do saying we aren’t gonna trade any of our QBs and then even if they have to wait till draft day or even June they do it for the right price. Watch Tampa scoop him up adding insult to injury that they sent Gaines Adams for a 2nd rounder now they get Brown for nothing. He’s from Florida so look for him to end up a Jag or Buccaneer.

@DCPowerGator – get a fact checker, that cheapskate notion is antiquated. the bears had the 5th highest payroll in the nfl last year, and dished out $100M + this off-season.
the bears problem isn’t spending money, their problem is spending money wisely.
brown’s contract didn’t match his production. that $5M they freed up by releasing him should enable them to sign a FS, OG, CB, which are all huge positions of need.

he’s a 4-3 end all the way but still a damn good one. 6 sacks last year, missed one game in 8 years.
i sure don’t see how the bears are better without him; in an uncapped year, there is no excuse for this kind of move. except cheapness. of course, it’s not exactly a news flash that the mccaskeys are cheapskates.

@biggregmoney – if the pats need a rush end and sign alex brown, they’ll still need a rush end.
alex brown is a stand up guy, never misses a start, and is stout against the run, but anyone who thinks he’s a rush end is sorely mistaken. he’s a good hand fighter, but lacks counter moves.
also anyone thinking he could be a rush end in a 3-4? not a chance. way too stiff.
