He doesn’t make sense for the Saints
They need a bruiser with a huge 2nd effort.
Lewis doesn’t have that and it showed

My opinion of Lewis took about THE BIGGEST 180* turn over the years. He is a hell of a good, solid team player. A Great leader in the locker room, as noted here.
But I must agree, that man’s tank is running strictly on fumes.
Could this mean Pierre Thomas (who;s an RFA if I’m not mistaken) is being checked out by another team???? Anyone?? Florio, you out there?? Heard anything that would make this more logical than the blanked-out starte you are giving us here..??

Atlanta will be taking that division this season and NO will be lucky to be a wild card team. With some skill and a lot of luck NO won a Superbowl. They shot their wad last year. Lee Harvey Os…..I mean coach Payton is a good coach, but his cocksure ways won’t be enough for them this time around.

I guess they think he can take the place of Mike Bell and use him for goal line situations, doesn’t sound like a bad idea if they can get him cheap, plus it adds depth if he has to start or be #2 a game or two

Not to dump on a guy who has had a pretty damn good career but all I know is that Cleveland’s running game went ballistic when Jamal decided to shut it down last year because the practices were too hard and his head hurt. Jerome Harrison set an Nfl record behind the same ol’ line Jamal was running, or should I say “stuttering” behind earlier in the season.

J-Lew was a helluva a rb, but not anymore. I can’t figure out the Saints strategy- they keep bringing in older, semi-washed-up players that would not realistically improve the team. Why waste the time doing this?

He won’t carry a team for a season, especially not one with nothing else going for it like Cleveland.
But he is still capable of taking over a game.
Now, why would the Saints change much of anything? Who knows. But if Jamal is taking the minimum, what’s the risk? Cheap yet proven depth is not a bad thing.
