Pot smoking will continue to be argued ad nauseum until it is legalized by the gummint. The wider issue is why smoking pot or possessing it for personal use is illegal in the first place. It’s not a even a drug, it is a plant. Maybe because banks make billions laundering proceeds of growing operations, and big pharma wants you to medicate with their products or the alcohol industry doesn’t want the competition. If anyone of age can drink a beer or a shot of whiskey, it is medieval to think you can be arrested, imprisoned, fired from your job, fined, lose your car if you smoke pot. Not to mention, to be castigated in a football blog if you even publicly joke about smoking pot. Who the hell is injured? Who’s delicate sensibilities are offended?

Whats funny is NFL players would rather admit to smoking pot than being gay, (which in Holmes case both could be true, lol). It should be like the military, don’t ask don’t tell.
He should learn never to miss a good opportunity to shut the F*** up.
I too believe that to allow alcohol to be legal while DUI’s fatalaties continue, while keeping pot illagel is just poor decision making by the government. The lost tax dollars alone could probably fund health care.

Whoa!! You didn’t sound insensitive. I wasn’t criticizing you for finding something humorous in all this. More power to you for grabbing a laugh where you can. I was criticizing the joke because I honestly don’t get what’s funny about it. But then, I was ROFL at Easy Bake Ovens, so maybe my humor meter is off.
What he’s accused of is despicable. But remember that so far it’s nothing but two completely unsubstantiated accusations–one by a woman suing for $3 million and the other by a woman who hired a civil litigator within 48 hours. I’ve followed both cases closely–and not on gossip sites. Everything presented to the Nevada court so far supports Roethlisberger’s innocence. All we know in Georgia is that a girl accused him of something noted in the incident report as “sexual manipulation.” That hasn’t been defined, except the police said it was not rape and there was no semen on the accuser. Ben had two apparently sober cops–active, not retired–with him that night. One issued a statement saying he saw nothing to indicate any criminal act occurred. Everything else–people blocking doorways, consensual sex acts, head injuries, yada yada–has come from gossip and unnamed sources with no verification from authorities.
I’m a rape survivor, not inclined to sympathize with abusers no matter what jersey they wear. But don’t throw yours away yet. Being a jerk to fans doesn’t make you a sex abuser. So far no one has defined the accusation (which for all we know could be pinching her butt) let alone provided evidence of assault. Don’t get caught up in the hype. Wait for the evidence. The DA may send this to Grand Jury, which doesn’t convene until, I think, June. We just have to be patient. If I see evidence, I’ll be angry at Ben. Until then, he’s an innocent man.

Deb let me clarify something so you don’t get me wrong. I’m former law enforcement and before I rush to judgement on anyone I’ll wait till all the facts are in. The very day Rothlisburger all of my #7 memorabilia will be immediately trashed. What he is accused of is dispicable and is no laughing matter.
Only the creativity behind UCK’s comment was amusing. I did not mean to sound insensitive to the crime itself.

I am a lifelong Steeler Fan and have always taken pride in the class of the organization even more so than the winning tradition. It deeply saddens me that in as many months we have devolved into the likes of the Bengals and Cowboys. Even with that said, I never lose my humor and that post by UckTheFeagles is the genuinely LAUGH OUT LOUD funny. Best post in months.

I said the other day that the Steelers should take away his toy, but nooooo. Santonio is a great route-runner and has great hands for catching the ball. But he’s clearly not the brightest bulb in the box. The Steelers have to wait and see what’s happening in Georgia. But there’s no earthly reason they can’t intervene right now in Holmes’s career-suicide-by-Twitter. In fact, there’s no reason they can’t issue a tweeting gag order for the whole team. Sometimes you have to save the stupid from themselves.

Twitter is easily one of the stupidest inventions of the last 500 years. The Flowbee had more use than twitter. All twitter can do for people is get them in trouble by allowing idiots to post their dumb ass comments to the world instead of to the group of friends they normally would be hanging out with if they weren’t screaming for attention like spoiled little kids at the mall.
How is it that these famous people do not know that any and every stupid thought that they post on twitter will be made public.
Unfortunately there are pathetic people out there who spend there day reading about when Santonio Holmes is gonna get high or if Tila Tequila is gonna have her brother’s baby.
I say again if you are gonna use twitter you might as well put on a tutu and some ballet shoes cause all you are is a little girl looking for someone to love you.
