Are you serious? In order for a trade to happen normally both sides have to benefit. How do the Cowboys benefit, they trade a #1 draft pick and a young Pro Bowl WR, For a guy who everyone has concerns about in Dez Bryant? Jerry Jones would have to be high on meth to make that deal.

I have to agree with you, only an idiot would do that trade. All that being said, Herry Jones must have been on some type of drugs when he traded all those picks for Roy Williams, so it is not totally out of the realm of possibility.

My best friend is an “old schooler” and he is at Oklahoma State and he will tell anyone who listens who he think is a punk and you know what – Dez Bryant IS NOT on his list. Even after Dez’s trouble with the NCAA, you couldn’t get him to say anything negative about the guy and how he would do in the NFL (Before you call him a homer, he’s got plenty of bad things about other Oklahoma State players). If I had a nickel for every college player that lied to the NCAA to protect their eligibility, I’d be Bill Gates. When Dez Bryant becomes the first person in history to do anything, I’ll be concerned about him but until then I’ll just evaluate him on his talent (Hell, Dan Marino plummted because of concerns about marijuana use. I bet that many of the teams that passed him over would have ignored that if they had realized that he was going to be as good as he was).

Main knock on Bryant is that he’s just not that bright. Ironic that Myron Rolle (Rhodes scholar) and Dez Bryant are in the same draft.

as a long time fan i’m wanting to believe so bad that this guy could be the anwser but…. i guess i’ll just have to take the tri-fecta’s word for it if and when it happens.and in the mean time i can dream about dez demanding double coverage and ginn’s speed on the other side giving teams fits. and JP you only would be happy if we take him and it don’t work out because if it does work out that guy will be a major pain in the butt for the pats & any other team he plays aginst

Um, Florio? Mike Mayock already confirmed with Bryant’s coach, Mike Gundy, that the only thing Bryant was ever late for was one meeting as a freshman.
The only no-no that Bryant has ever done is lie to the NCAA, thus his suspension… for lying to the NCAA, not because they had proof he did anything else. How did they know Bryant lied? Because Bryant came clean shortly after lying in the first place. They also haven’t exactly doggedly pursued Bryant the way they have, say, Reggie Bush.
One doesn’t need the Dolphins’ resources to get at the truth behind Dez Bryant.

Not many are aware of this, but Parcells in the past has used Priest’s in the in house visit process. Having the player in a sit down confessional with the Padre can often times be quite intimidating…and showing some good indicators of character.
BTW – Nice Best of Times reference, Florio…enjoyed that one.

As for his character issues it aint his fault he grew up hard , most kids in my area do. Give him some structure with a good organization and he could do great things. I cant wait to go to Davie and watch him practice against Sean Smith, and Vontae.

Ok guys first of all i am a huge Fin fan and Dez Bryant has my vote to be the #12 pick. The only player i would pass up on Dez for would be Eric Berry. No other player could make the type of impact that he would on our offense. Hes as good as ive ever seen going up and making the catch second only to Larry Fitzgerald. I say bring him in. I cant wait to see him put it to Darrelle Revis!

Way to much risk for the 12th pick. He should get serious thought at about 20-25 but we are not talking about a Calvin Johnson type of physical specimen, and certainly not a guy with a rep as a solid teammate.
Remember Mike Williams – USC? Big, physical, had his way with college DBs then couldn’t do a thing as a pro. Bryant is faster but I think there are similarities.
The Lions could tell you a few things about using high picks on WRs with only 1 of 4 making it.

Parcells hates to use early draft picks on wide receivers. They are divas and take time to be developed. Which could bring the Dolphins back to Brandon Marshall. The Dolphins have to face reality and get a number 1 first rate pass catching weapon. I’m a Parcells fan but getting a great receiver in the sixth or seventh round is
not going to happen anymore. Current scouting
methods are to extensive. The Dolphins may even be talking about obtaining Marshall. They are not going to let the press or anyone know their direction for a receiver.

Being a huge Dolphins fan, my gut says stay away from this guy! Take Earl Thomas or Berry if available at 12 and address the WR need some other way. Patrick Turner needs to step up and provide us the value that his pick cost us.
