We mentioned recently DeAngelo Williams’ chances for a contract extension this offseason are diminished by the “30 percent rule.”
He will get a relatively modest pay bump, however, because of his performance.
Williams hit incentives in his deal that will bring his salary from $725,000 to $2.1 million, according to the Charlotte Observer. His teammates Charles Johnson ($550,000 to $1.101 million) and Everette Brown ($395,000 to $1.23 million) also got expected raises.
Unfortunately for Williams, odds are that’s his last salary increase for a while.

Talk about under paid. This guy is a great player and involved with the community. I think he deserves more.
Relatively? I don’t think, relative to anything, tripling your salary is ever “modest”.
