Jason Spitz is ready to return to the Green Bay Packers.
Greg A. Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Spitz, a restricted free agent who can play both guard and center, signed his tender today and will begin workouts with the team on Tuesday.
Spitz was tendered at the second-round level, and his tender gives him a salary of $1.176 million in 2010.
After starting 41 games in his first three seasons with the Packers from 2006 to 2008, Spitz had a disappointing season and was limited by injury to just five games in 2009. But Spitz has made a complete recovery from back surgery and will be able to participate in all the offseason workouts.
Spitz is expected to compete for a starting spot at left guard.
