I get your point and usually totally agree with your assesment of the McNabb situation…
But please don’t try to site James Thrash and Todd Pinkston as evidence that McNabb indeed had some weapons during his time in Philly, ok. Both of those guys were embarrasments to the Eagles franchise

the eagles defense was 10th last year….and thats with 1 terrible safety and 3 bad linebackers…..if they can add a few nice defensive players through the draft there defense will have the look of one of the best up and coming young D’s in the league….

There is some tremendous superstar potential on the Eagles offense, but on the defensive side, a collection of mediocre, no name players with a second year coordinator who has shown he ain’t no Jim Johnson. Whatever the offense manages to accomplish in 2010, will be more than negated by a horrible defense, made worse by the fact that Andy Reid believes that some defensive positions, such as linebacker and safety, which are the Eagles perennial achilles heal, are not critical defense positions. This season will possibly be a winning season, but one and done if they make the playoffs, thanks to a lousy defense, again.

However obnoxious you may think Vox and his “0-3gles” joke is (it is getting kinda old Vox- it’s not like there isn’t anything else to make fun of the Eagles for), the fact is that the Eagles 0-3 record v. the Boys last year (and particularly how horrible the Eagles and McNabb specifically played in the last two of those games) is very relevant here.
Do you think if the Eagles had won 2 of those 3 games, including the playoff game, that McNabb would be gone right now? Do you think if the Eagles had not embarrassed themselves last year they would have gotten rid of 12 players and left themselves with one starter over 30?
Kind of silly to say a “past season” that ended 2 months ago is irrelevant. Have there been games played more recently that we don’t know about?

Yet!!! Kevin will prob be better than mcnabb eventually he needs some yrs under his belt first. Mcnabb stinks he’s too inconsisted. The Eagles are a good team they need a better and smart QB. I think Kevin might be able to do it and I def think he be better than mcnabb.

He had to go. He would not have salvaged the 2010 season any more than not trading Ewing would have helped the Knicks 2009 campaign. He’s history.

In a spread-it-around offense these are good numbers. Before Jackson, this offense didn’t go downfield, so aside from Owens you don’t get big YPC. What you would see from all these is a huge # of YAC yards, as the short passing game leads to that.
They could have been better, no question – and we should have kept Owens. But the QB was part of that equation. But it wasn’t like he was running out there with a bunch of CFL rejects.
And Santana Moss isn’t much better than a lot of what’s on that list.

Not quite….You gave us a fresh start and made our team younger and eager to prove something. For the Past 3 years McNabb looked washed out and Tierd, Why do you think so many fans wanted him out? Oh and you also made the redskins better too! The Cowboys played like garbage (So did the Eagles, and the rest of the NFCE for that matter) last year and have done nothing to improve their team. It would not shock me to see them at the bottom of the division next year.

That statement ignores the football and business realities of this whole situation.

how is jackson unproven? Rookie season he had close to 800 receiving yards while doing punt returns. 2nd season he had well over 1000 yards and like 10 tds, while doing punt returns and returning 2 to the house. The one against the giants was just jaw dropping. And how can you call him a loud mouth punk? Do you ever see or hear him starting controversy like TO, Moss, ochocinco? No. He was asked a question and he answered it honestly in the most politically correct way you can. O and btw I’m sure he knows alot more about Kolb and the state of the team then me and any of you haters. Ever think him and the other receivers wanting Kolb to play shows good for Kolb? Open your heads and start thinking before you hate, or know what you are talking about before you post.

In the history of trading pro bowl qb’s this one looks bad. Bleadsoe was done, Young had taken the team to the playoffs while Montana was hurt. I think we will see that Mcnabb was covering Andy Reid’s faults, and not the other way around. Shanny will coach him up, and the eagles will be eating huge plates of crow by December.
