Haynesworth plans to show for April minicamp

After a rocky start to their relationship, Mike Shanahan and defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth will get to renew acquaintances soon.

Jason Reid of the Washington Post reports that Haynesworth plans to be at Washington’s minicamp from April 16-18. The pre-draft practices will be the first football work of the Shanahan era.

With Haynesworth on the trade block, his presence could prove to be a distraction.  But it’s uncertain whether a trade market for Haynesworth will develop and the two sides could be stuck together.

The message Shanahan is sending his star player is unmistakable: They are ready to move on. (Or move out.)  We’ll see how Haynesworth responds.

    It is shameful he can’t get his fat, out of shape a$$ there from day 1. He is a sissy, who doesn’t mind essentially stealing money. If I acted the way he did and showed up for work in the condition he does (as it relates to one’s specific job) I don’t think everyone around me would be this understanding. Oh that’s right they aren’t. They are trying to get rid of him, but EVERYONE else knows all of the above about him. Enjoy your big FA danny boy.

    As an Eagles fan, I wish “Hard Knocks” was focusing on the Redskins this season =(
    There should be some pretty good stories coming out of that locker room over the next 5 months.

    I’d like him on my team. Anybody that stomps on the face of a defenseless Dallas Cowboy is alright by me.

    @MagicMan407 dude you gotta give us (Redskins Fans) the off season. It’s the only time we have to be optimistic.

    @MagicMan407–
    I don’t think so! This is when we make our noise. I love it…We at least have football importance in the offseason. Could you imagine being a BUCS fan? They don’t even get press during the season, much less, the off season!

    boysroll, at least we still have won more playoff games than you have over the past 15 years. We can always depend on Romo to play like a HOF from sept to nov, then play like his normal self in Dec. As long as Romo is your QB you will not be playing in a SB.
