This is yet another bullshit “news” article from a bullshit sports reporting site run by a bullshit glorified bastard of a reporter.
Just because the Saints aren’t making any news so far this off-season beyond losing Scott Fujita and Mike Bell to free agency because they didn’t want to overpay for those guys’ less than overwhelmingly stellar services (Fujita was decent but he isn’t exactly a star OLB in this league — Bell had a nice year for the Saints but they set his salary just where it should have been set and stuck to their guns by not countering an over-inflated offer from the Eagles) and shedding the under-performing and over-paid Charles Grant (Grant has never lived up anywhere even near the same zip code of the salary that the Saints were overpaying him), I guess the media has decided to make up stories like this one to try and get their readership up during slow times.
Are you really paraphrasing “one member of the New Orleans media” who prefers to remain nameless? My ass! You just made this shit up, didn’t you? Admit it!
I love my Saints and I will just sit here patiently while awaiting any real news about my team instead of believing any of the dribble that comes from the desk (or the offices) of that Mike Florio idiot an his cronies!

Some reporters are just negative, just like some fans, and I can understand why they want to be selective, I would do the same thing. Even winning the superbowl , all some of the media wants to do is write about the last three games or something negative. why not write about the players stories, the fans, the city, the region or the other many endless positive stories. But just look at some of these comments , many are just negative, with no knowledge of the facts, most just hate the superbowl champs.

Umm….I know I’m repeating what a few others who know what they’re talking about on here have already stated, but these rennovations to the Superdome have been planned for quite a while now. The organization DID NOT make this decision only after they won the Super Bowl as many of you think before you read. This was all part of a long term plan to increase revenue from the existing structure instead of building an entirely new stadium. It’s a small market and they have to do everything they can to remain competitive. And, the Superdome pressbox is in an unusual spot to begin with by other stadium standards. Compared to the season ticket prices of other teams and that we don’t have PSLs, the Saints aren’t squeezing the ticket holders nearly as much as they could, especially considering the demand right now.
God. Win one Superbowl and the hate comes out of the woodwork.

Media, take note. No one minds a negative article once in a while, but there is too many negative stories out there.
I was absolutely appalled that the media brought up the “NFL potential draft pick Tony Washington is a sex offender for sleeping with his 15 yr old sister”. Please explain to me a) why the public needs to know this, and b) what this has to do with football.
Where is the class and ethics in media? Where is the line between reporting the news and ruining someone’s reputation for a buck?

Based on a review of the e-mails that Bigad Shaban of WWL-TV exchanged with Bensel, it appears that the organization wants the local media to behave like an extension of the P.R. department, trumpeting the positive news and overlooking anything that may cast the Saints in a negative light.

The Broncos have been doing this to the local beat writers that cover the team for some time now. The three primary writers who cover the Broncos (Klis, Kiszla & Jones) for the Denver Post do exactly that, act as a PR extension of the team.
Just ask Brandon Marshall, Jay Cutler, Tony Sheffler and a few other players and Coaches.
Just the opposite of what happens with local media coverage in places like Philly, Washington & New York where the coverage is critical and more balanced.
