So, how do $1 movie theaters stay in business? I know that the extra money that I would save would go toward a beer and a dog and if they have a full house, that would be fine. A full house would mean more than 6,800 more fans than they got in their last seasons of the AFL.

Of course it’s a publicity stunt. Of course it’s meant to get fans to come back and pay for a ticket.

I assume that ownership gets a cut of those $11 beers and $8 hot dogs they’ll be drinking and eating during the games

That might only help 25% of all their overhead!!! Renting the stadium, paying players, paying coaches, paying execs, paying gear people, paying janitors… etc.
Pay someone $40k a year and make them a Marketing Exec that knows what hes doing… don’t give away tickets give away tshirts & plastic bobble heads and you will do better in the long run.
They need to take lessons from BonJovi, he was a marketing genious!!! Gave away free concerts, shirts, balls etc. and hired pitch man Ron ‘Jaws’ Jaworski to use his mouth all around town. He also hired his buddys wife: Heather Locklear to show up looking pretty for fans.

I am really glad the AFL is coming back. Growing up in Tampa I loved going to Storm games. The games were exciting and the atmosphere was good.
Most of the time I went the tickets were given away free or really cheap but I often bought some food and paid for parking.
