Greatness is about making a good team a champion. Not making a mediocre team a one-and-done playoff team.
That is what McNabb and Moon are. Guys like Brady make a decent team a champion.
But Brady didn’t win any Grey Cups, so I guess he’s not on your radar.

A RB. He had tons of rushing yards. Like Faulk, he also could catch. To great effect. He was arguably a Top-5 weapon in the NFL over a span of years. So much for the “no weapons” argument. And Westbrook at that time was 100% better than anything the Skins have now. So prepare for more excuses.

Nope, I knew the Westbrook stats, as does every fan I know. Every one of them knows Westbrook cracked 1,200 twice. It was memorable for anyone paying attention. So much for the “no running attack” excuse.

When you turn over the whole offense, why hold onto an old QB for one more year? By the time all the young players gel, and you fix the D, he’ll be gone anyone. And you only hurt yourself by not getting a pick that helps you rebuild.
But you seem to prefer the Redskin “patch and paste with overpaid vets” strategy. How has that worked out?

You are spoiled. You expect 10 wins every year. Not possible. He was given a decade, didn’t get it done. Time to move on. Or should Randall still be playing QB?
There is NO evidence that people will stop buying tix. Look at the waiting list for season tix. When is the last time there was a blackout? You just made this up. Sadly, revenue is not tied to W-L. The fans are too loyal.

Who cares about Grey Cups? Are you a total loser? Why not go on the Scandinavian putt putt circuit and win titles there. Unreal. Redefine “success” to prop up a guy who never got it done.
You made up the “revere Jaws” thing. That just shows you have no clue. At all. You just made that up because you have no central argument or point.
Find more dumb examples – just be sure to look at the actual numbers before you do so. You need to learn about the actual events, instead of your emotional take on them.

Oh, BTW, you boob, Warren Moon has 5 Grey Cups to his name. It may not be Super Bowls but the guy did win. As to his W-L record, his first three years in the NFL were hurt because they hired his CFL coach for the Oilers and he couldn’t adjust to the NFL and then Jerry Glanville had to clean up his mess. Moon was 102-101-1 with those first three years killing him (12-33-0 for his first three years and 90-68- 1 for the rest of his career). He’s also the only PLAYER to be named to the NFL and CFL HOF (Bud Grant’s there as a player/coach (CFL) and coach (NFL).
As for the Eagles and their current players – what in the hell are you talking about? I haven’t talked about them, either so you must be talking about yet another person. You need to go through your messages and find that right person to go after because it isn’t me.

Let’s take a look at what REAL teams have done and kept winning….

Who “reveres” Jaws? Now that we’ve established, I hope, a respectable dialogue – can I ask where you get this statement?
If I ask 100 random people on 3rd and Market St, 60% won’t know who Jaws is. Another 20% will say he’s a radio pitchman. 20% will say he was an Eagles QB, and few of those would place him over McNabb. Among fans under 30, virtually none would have any idea of who Jaws is.
This amazes me, really.
You’d have more of a case arguing Cunningham was more revered. While untrue, at least a case could be made that Randall was more exciting – among fans aged 35-45. Aside from that, not much. Few would argue he’s “better”.
Seriously, who told you people in Philly revere Jaws? That’s coming out of left field. I live in Philly – born and raised. I see #5 jerseys all the time, a handful of #12′s. Never seen a #7 in decades.
McNabb is, without question, viewed by fans as the most accomplished and best QB of our lifetime…but all things must end a new era begun.
Seriously, Jaws is SO out there.

You didn’t look at the W-L of Moon, did you? You just thought that was a great example because Moon was a ‘name’ guy. And he put up stats. And there is a good chance that will happen with McNabb, as the Redskins OL sucks bad.
I can’t abide that Moon comparison, because I took the time to look up the stats. I didn’t operate on emotion, as many McNabb supporters did (and I did when Cunningham and Iverson were dealt). His stats, come 2012, are Boomer Esiason’s. Look it up. He’ll be slightly below Drew Bledsoe. Look it up. Both are great QB’s, it’s not a light – as is McNabb. But don’t get carried away. Fair?
As for McNabb v Kolb, I have not met an Eagle fan who thinks this is an upgrade in the short term. Not one. And I do not. But it doesn’t matter – the long term considerations argued for the move.
If you think we “hate” McNabb, you ignore the football and business realities. This is the way it goes.
If the defense and OL even graded out at a B- most of us would welcome McNabb back. But the team is 2 years from competing.
McNabb, for all his talents, could not take this team to 10 wins. The front office turned every other position over and did nothing in FA. He’d get us 9. If Kolb can get us 7, then that is all the same to us. It’s a throwaway rebuilding year.
The team was going nowhere in 2010 no matter who was at QB. We chose to stockpile picks and save cash for an uncapped 2011. If anything, they did McNabb a favor by moving him.
And I apologize, as I confused you with eagleslover with the Westbrook issue. At least you have balls and come back and press your point. I just think you have an inflated view of what the Eagles supporting cast – specifically D and OL – look like now. It’s bad. We are rebuilding.
Even McNabb could not lead this team, with the current talent level, to a meaningful playoff run.
And I’d say 80% of Eagles fans are prepared for this roll of the dice. It may end up good or bad, but the fact was the McNabb era was at an end.

Donovan McNabb is the leader – but a long shot – in wins for the Eagles and yet, you boobs seem to revere guys like Jaws, who didn’t do as well. If he produces anything close to what he did in Philly, he’s going to be worshiped in Washington and that’s just sad.

Brian Westbrook was a RB who played for the Eagles for many years. He was drafted out of Villanova (a Philadelphia area school), and replaced Duce Staley (who you probably cried over when he left).
If there is any other Eagles 101 info you’d like to know, just ask!

Yeah, he gets 5 of his catches in the 4th quarter when the game is out of control and he scores – wait for it – NOTHING in that game and then he gets 8 against the Chiefs — WOO HOO – bronze that HOF statue. Look, Celek is a good TE but he had a damn good game against Denver when he had 121 yards and TD that’s more impressive than what he did early with Kolb.
Oh and it took several years for Troy Aikman to be able to get it right with Alvin Harper. A lot of their early attempts at long plays were hurt by their lack of timing when Harper had to come back for his passes (and Troy did NOT have a noodle for an arm). A lot of their early “long” connections came when he hit Alvin short and he took it to the house (As the 49ers about that one).

Also, he led a drive late in the 4th quarter when the Saints didn’t care and it died at the 4. Their only TD in the second half was set up by a 63 yard KO return. His game was a lot of empty calories, as was the game against the Chiefs.

All of you guys that wanna say that McNabb would hit Desean “in stride” with his deep balls couldnt be more wrong. Go to YOUTUBE and watch Deseans TD vs the Giants when he did The Jerk. Look at his TD catches vs the Redskins. Yea, maybe SOME of his passes were in stride, but on MOST of them, Desean had to slow down and wait for the ball, even though he had his defenders beat by a few yards. And you haters can keep hating, cause Desean will most likely have another strong season. I honestly think Maclin will develope into the #1 WR and Desean will be lined up vs. the #2 CB. I see another 10+ TD season for Desean and an 8-10 TD season for Maclin! Oh yeah, theres this guy named Brent Celek too. He’s the best TE in the NFC! Witten is good, but he only had like 1 TD. I think Celek had like 8 in his first year as a starter and he put up HUGE #s when Kolb started those 2 games last season.
