Alexander would like Haynesworth to be a "good teammate"

Redskins defender Lorenzo Alexander had only nice things to say Thursday when asked about what Albert Haynesworth did for the 2009 Redskins.

He just would like to see Haynesworth around more to work on the 2010 team.

“I know he has issues with the coaching staff, but I just really want
him to just come around and be a good teammate,” Alexander said on the Mike Wise show, as transcribed by Dan Steinberg of DC Sports Bog.  “I mean, that’s really
what everybody wants, is being a good teammate, and just forgetting
about 3-4, 4-3. Just go out here, lets play football and get some Ws and
win some games.”

Alexander’s comments remind us of something fullback Mike Sellers said on NFL Network earlier in the week.

“We only have one guy not here and that’s Haynesworth,” Sellers said before a raised eyebrow.  “And we’ll see what happens with that.”

Haynesworth is such a cry baby
he has never played a full season his whole career

Newsflash: Jamarcus Haynesworth is just there to collect a check Mr. Alexander. Whoever you are…

So even though Haynesworth hasn’t really worked with the coaching staff… even his teammates recognize that he already has problems with them? Sure-fire sign that the players are making TOO MUCH MONEY! Do away with guaranteed contracts before it kills the sport!

The fact that anyone even has to say that about a teammate shows they should move him for whatever they can get for him. If it’s a 7th round pick, so be it. Someone like that drags an entire team down regardless of their talent.

Fat Albert–Pull yourself out of the Ferrari and play some ball. Or get traded and give us some draft picks. Your decision.

An old argument for the players making ridiculous sums of money, “Why should the owners be the only ones that make huge profits?”
I have an answer for that. Because I’d rather hear about the 32 rich jerk owners in the news rather than the rich jerk owners plus the 53 rich jerk players on each of their teams.

So what can we get for Fat Albert? A 2nd?

  9. East Bay Ray says: Apr 8, 2010 5:30 PM

Haynesworth is a guy that committed assault and battery on the football field by attempting to permanently disfigure an opponent because he was upset that that opponent was dominating him in the game.
Are the Redskins somehow surprised now to learn that he has character issues?

Somebody please tell me who was a worse big name, big money, free agent signing BUST? NFL only… anyone? This guys the worst.

I think this is more about management, personality, and timing. I’m a Colts fan, and we’ve given big contracts to a lot of players like Manning, Freeney, Wayne, and to a lesser extent Tarik Glenn, Marvin Harrison, and Edgerrin James. Those guys never stopped working. You have to start with quality individuals. Money only emphasizes the traits people already have.

I sure had high hopes with guy, but looks like he’s going to be another overpaid , spoiled jerk.

Maybe we should just call Haynesworth “The Redskins’ Golden Turd”

??? Redskins would need to do both to finish .500

Haynesworth wreaks havoc; and gets paid.
Simply the best defensive line player in the league.

  17. Ryan says: Apr 8, 2010 6:09 PM

Haynesworth has played a full season, and if you dont know who Alexander is you have no business commenting on this article.

  18. Buck Stallion says: Apr 8, 2010 6:12 PM

Despite Florio trying to create a story, there is only one Dan Snyder, so no one is going to trade for Buttersworth. And yeah, I realize his contract isn’t really for $100mil, but it’s still too much.
Also nobody seemed to care that Sean Taylor not only skipped OTAs, he wouldn’t even return Gibbs’ phone calls.
If this fat slob actually comes into training camp (the one he’s required to go to) in better shape than last year, & doesn’t pretend to be hurt every 3rd play cuz he can’t breath, everyone will forget he wasn’t here for OTAs.

stupid and absurd,,,most overrated overpaid player in the league now,and quite possibly, ever,he has only played a full season maybe once,he takes about 2 plays off a series, with the exception of 2 years ago when it was blatonly obvious he was only hustling for a huge contract and the redskins were the only ones to be so stupid, congrats pretzel boy,now you have a problem you just have to deal with

  20. Bious says: Apr 8, 2010 7:07 PM

It is time the Skins swallowed a tough pill and just gave him away for little
He is causing them a LOT of negative attention in what is supposed to be a “new” start for the coaching staff and QB
    Just get him out

  21. karmathaitch says: Apr 8, 2010 7:17 PM

    Dave Chappell..
They should of never gave this fool money!! LOL!!

  22. MagicMan407 says: Apr 8, 2010 7:21 PM

Easy to say when you just spent over 30 mil on the dude for 12 games and its not your money. Come on be realistic think business are you or anyone in the world just going to give someone that much money and expect nothing in return? You cant just “give” him away!

  23. mikeyclaw says: Apr 8, 2010 7:29 PM

What a waste of talent! I’m talking to YOU Albert! I think you need the Marine Corps “Come to Jesus” meeting. Guess what, Albert? You signed for the $21 million, and now, you have to live with it. Shanny will have a whip, a chair, and a gun on you. You WILL get with the program, or be what you truelly seem to be: A Diva.
Shame on you Fat Albert! Identify your “Major Malfunction”, hook yourself up to a car battery, and get some therapy.
Once respected, and feared, you have become a “Feather Merchant”. Disgusting!

  24. Matt Cribbin says: Apr 8, 2010 7:34 PM

Yeah, if only the skins had a good coach. Wait . . . they do. Well if only they had a Qb . . . wait a minute . . . they do! Well the line needs some work, but wait! They can draft and pick up linemen through trades and in FA. Now with just a little help last year the skins could have easily been .500. And you guys are gonna say they need a miracle to get seven or eight wins? Please, can’t wait for the season. HTTmothatruckinR.

  25. jibfest says: Apr 8, 2010 7:56 PM

Eagles fan here, the Skins are bad at all. If you take all that turmoil with Zorn and the not talking to the play caller and stuff, they really aren’t a horrible team at all.
    Horrible NFL Teams:
    Raiders
    Lions
    Rams
    Chiefs
    Bucs

yes most players are overpaid but i dont know where u get off saying the guranteed contracts kill the sport, the nfl doesnt have guranteed contracts, every other team sport does, its a redskins problem that they give way bigger contracts to players than any other team is willing to pay

Haha ya because only the finest linemen wait to be had by the redskins. Maybe they should move Haynesworth to the O-line, they pay him enough to be a 2 position player. Ohhhh… wait a minute, then a redskins game would literally take 17 hours to complete because he would be on the ground belly up holding something twice as often.

    so much stupid posting here.
Yes Haynesworth is one of the best Dt’s in the game , no he was not a bust not even remotely, and alexander needs to shut his yap and worry about himself, mr “versatility” hasnt been good enough to start let alone make a pro bowl and dominate like Big Al.

  31. Klytus says: Apr 8, 2010 9:03 PM

I’m with Albert on this one. Haynesworth should be playing defensive end not nose tackle. Come on Mr. Hastlett just give a try. He’d be wasted at nose tackle. On the end, Albert would be a monster. Throwing blockers aside, crushing running backs and making quarterbacks eat dirt.
    GO STEELERS!

You obviously dont know football…Check the stats of his teammates..look at the Titans line the last year he played with them compared to last year..do the same for the Redskins line before Big Piggy and after Big Piggy… say what you want about his attitude and him falling down after every other series…The man is a Beast…not to mention he was on the field more than every other defensive linemen for the redskins except 1!!! Think About It and dont get caught in the hype!!!
Also stop hating on the football players getting paid..how stupid is it to say that only the owners should get paid…please…no one gets mad at the owners who cut guys that get hurt after throwing their bodies around for them on the field!!! Look if they can make it let them make it…I laugh at the comment about 32 jerk owners..are you crazy!!! Should only the rich get richer…really??
