Our friends at ESPN (we actually have one or two there) have advised us that Sunday’s implosion of the old Texas Stadium can be viewed on ESPN3.com.
The live feed will come courtesy of the Irving Community Television Network.
Those in the Dallas area may pay $25 per car to view the big bang in a lot that holds up to 5,000 cars. Gates for the 7:00 a.m. C.T. event open at 2:00 a.m. C.T. Seriously.
More than 2,700 pounds of explosives will be used to knock down the building, which is only a shell after the dismantling of the interior of the structure.
We assume that the hole in the roof remains. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, God thinks this one is gonna be wicked.
UPDATE: Our friends at NFL Network advise that the implosion of Texas Stadium will be carried live on the league-owned television operation as well. Until Sunday morning, we’ll just watch old video of Three Rivers Stadiums collapsing into the Confluence.
Garbage stadium w/no history.
They should PAY people to watch it go down; it’s been a freakin’ eyesore in Dallas for so long.
Pathetic.
The greatest place in football history… sad, sad day.
Weird.
Don’t they usually wait until the playoffs to implode?
Wait do the cowboys have a new stadium? You should write an article about that.
one thing that will carry over to the new pallas in dallas is the impotence of 15 years and counting.
and before any cowboys fans beat me to it, yes, the 5 trophies will carry over too. please, tell us all about those championships and tell me why the eagles suck. its not cliched or repetitive at all.
Step right up folks, just pay Jerry a small fee of ONLY 25 dollars…1/4 of a C-note. You too can sit in the comfort of your own car & watch an old stadium get blowed up.
Too bad it’s not the new stadium, that garbage needs to be imploded.
If Vox can get the money from his mom, he’ll be there.
let’s hope this keeps the gates to Hell sealed.
I will miss this stadium .. just glad i caught a game in it before this happened..
just wanted to leave a positive comment before all you Dallas haters chime in
You’re completely missing the timing of the implosion; the playoffs don’t begin until January. Oops, different type…
“La la la la wait til I get my money right!”
-Jerry Jones
Finally that piece of crap stadium with a half built roof is coming down! I wonder how many hillbillies will be there drinking Budweiser with their wife beaters on?
This will be a great day in the history of sports!
BLOW IT UP!
The hole in the roof was so God could have a toilet.
“I wonder how many hillbillies will be there drinking Budweiser with their wife beaters on?”
I’m going to guess all of them. Ever been to a game in Dallas? It’s like going to a tractor pull, same kind of fans.
That dump looks like a toilet from above. Pun intended. Now if only someone could knock down that new piece of crap Jerry Jones built for his ego….
don’t let Romo hold the demolition he’ll fumble it
Too bad they couldn’t do that while Satan’s Team was still playing games there…
Bunch of jealous Cowboy haters on this site. Both stadiums are/were state of the art. Maybe one day if your owners and cities can generate enough money, maybe you too can have a jumbotron.
Garth Brooks in 93 was the best event ever held there.
I wanna piece of concrete from the tunnel where sweaty Mean Joe Green drank that Coke….
Any word on how many of the Cowboys are still on for the April Fools notice about the 7AM workout “at the old Stadium on April 11″?
why all the vitriol toward the no.1 sports franchise in america, with a fan base in every state that no other team can match??
“Per a source with knowledge of the situation, God thinks this one is gonna be wicked.”
We always suspected you were hearing voices for all the unnamed sources “with knowledge of the situation” PFT has used in the past.
Only in Texas does the arrogance exist to charge for carloads to watch a building imploded, and where the stupidity exists to pay it.
0-3gle fans know all about implosions. The most recent one at the Novacare Complex was courtesy of the Dallas Cowboys, thankyouverymuch. THEY BLEW UP YOUR TEAM.
I’m a Dallas hater (but married a girl from there), but I toured the old stadium in 2008, knowing they were gonna tear it down. Glad I did, so many memorable games there. I have my own little piece of the turf in a ziplock.
$25 a car to watch the stadium implode? Are you kidding me? What a money grab. I agree that this would be fun to watch in person, but to pay to see it, is just down right stupid. Sadly they’ll probably fill all 5,000 parking spots, and it will once again prove that the American consumer is truly as stupid as the entertainment industry thinks we are.
“one thing that will carry over to the new pallas in dallas is the impotence of 15 years and counting.”
Hey hoobster, how about letting us know how long the Eagles have been waiting for a Superbowl. Thought so chief.
A glorious day indeed
I’ll pay the 25 bucks to any Cowgirl fans who would rather park inside…in the shade.

Yes. If there is one thing that breeds jealousy, it is spectacular failure.
Just like everyone is jealous of the Raiders (at least, in the minds of the Raiders fans).
When we laugh at you, it’s not jealousy.
Just for the record, Jerry has NOTHING to do with the parking charge. The city of Irving is doing that to try and squeeze the last dollar out of the site. They sold as much as they could from the place and this is a last gasp attempt to secure some more coin.

What do the Steelers have to do with this article?
thats $125,000 if all 5000 spaces are used… wow wonder who gets the proceeds…
I’m not a Cowboys fan, but I do feel for their fans and what this actually means to them. Lots of memories there for you folks.
I hear the viqueens are looking for a new stadium… i bet they could take a “gamble” on this one… isn’t it like 12 years newer?
Can they put VOX VERITAS in it? Id pay for that.
Wait, I thought the Ravens blew it up at the end of the 2008 season.

Easier said than done, being as he doesn’t “officially” exist.
He’s an illegal Cuban ya know.
Living off the public US dough…
What a bunch of f*cking hicks. Who would pay $25 to watch a building get demolished? Jesus Christ, Texas, get a f*cking life.
Hey .Vox -
0-3gles? Really? Is that the best you got? You mean to tell me that you and your sorry team got lambasted by this site for years about the impotence in the playoffs and 0-3gles is all you can come up with?
Now, close the basement door because your mom is tired of listening to your Final Fantasy soundtrack over and over again…
Wait an hour and it will be on YouTube. For free.
Few sports entertainment venues are as well recognized or rich in past glory as that stadium.
Great teams and players on both sides of the ball have played memorable games there.
With that said, time to move on from the past.
“What a bunch of f*cking hicks. Who would pay $25 to watch a building get demolished? Jesus Christ, Texas, get a f*cking life.”
Stone, why dont you bring your punk ass down here and get a “hick” ass kicking. Dont be jealous of Texas and the Cowboys. I know you are stuck with a bunch of ugly ass women that cant compete with our Texas women. I know your team doesnt have the history like us and your city is probably an arm pit that cant compete with our cities strong economy (even in tough times). We can afford $25.
All you jealous haters, and yes thats all you are, crawl back under your rocks or get back into our shadows and shut the f… up!
Little b!tches
Oh and you 0-3agles, we gonna smack that ass for you again in 2010!! You have an unproven qb who as only played in garbage time and you guys think you have something. So desperate. I hate the skins but look forward to McNabb spankin your ass twice. YOU NEVER TRADE WITHIN THE DIVISION. You talk smack about Jerry but you need to look at your idiotic owner. How stupid!

The current Eagles stadium is Lincoln Financial Field. The former was Veterans Stadium. The Novacare Complex is the Eagles’ practice facility. You must have confused their practice facility with the deathtrap that was the Cowboys’ facility, which was knowingly built by the lowest common bidder, causing the paralysis of Rich Behm. Glad I could clear that up for you.
The name “wemissyoudan” is so freagin gay. Gotta be an 0-3agle
toe-to-toe bird law (another gay name),
You are so way off about the lowest bidder. So way off your just lame. What is well known as that all work was performed by Texas companies. Thats how you help the local economy dumbass and not to mention all the events the stadium brings in.
Your way of thinking is why philly is trash.
Who are the Eagles fans on here talking trash? Do you want to compare recent history (3-0 Dallas from 2009 season) or past history (5 Dallas Super Bowls)?

The same geniuses who will pay $100 to watch cars drive in circles for hours.
BOW Down to the SB Champs of 2011
Your Dallas Cowboys!!!!
America’s team
@DEATHSTAR…..warning….internet tough guy alert!!!! Warning!!! Watch your backs!!!! Internet tough guy!!!! Or it could just be Vox’s mommy…either way what a douchebag.

Oh that’s right. Not only were they the lowest bidders, they were also all manned by minimum wage, unqualified, non-union scabs (ie; “Texas companies” – just ask Cheney)
Thanks for clearing that up.

God sure was looking down on the stadium September 28, 2008 when Jim Zorn went in there and beat the snot out of that fat cheerleader you all call coach. It is great to beat a team in their home stadium for the last time. I must admit I will miss that piece of sh*t, but I will still go pay my 5 dollars to watch them blow that f*cker up.
Too bad we can’t put dabarber, Vox, and all the other douche bag cowgurl fans that live in DC in the stadium when the count down to destruction ends.

Yes we eagles fans know all about implosions. We helped implode your team for a little more than a decade. Congrats on finally catching up. We exciting to see the rivalry again instead of kicking your ass every year.
And for the guy asking who were eagles fans are on here talking trash. Well thats us, because we dont give a f*ck. We love hearing you talk about your superbowls from 20 and 30 years ago. Half of you idiots dont even remember them, just what your white trash families would tell while drinking Budweiser!
i wonder when 0-3gles will go out of style…hopefully we beat you again (and again(and again(and again(ERROR: overflow)))) this year so we can go with 0-2boys, or indeed 0-3boys. im joking, of course, it will definitely be 0-2boys.
Why would anyone pay $25 to watch a Cowboys structure implode when they could’ve watched it for free a year ago?
Oh well, Jerruh found 30,000 of those idiots willing to pay $29 for the privilege of standing for 3 hours and watching a TV… I guess he can round them all up and charge them $25 to watch this place come down.

the city of Irving you idiot. Jerry does not own that stadium. he leased it. do your homework before you talk crap.
Thank GOD they are gonna blow that dump up. I hope some of the shrapnel takes out the new dump that they play in. GAUDY DUMP! BLOW IT TO HELLLLLL!!!!!
the money collected will go to local charities.
I may take my son to see it. I hate the Cowboys & would enjoy watching that place go down. And you can hate us Texicans all you want, but deep down you know it’s fun to watch sh t blow up.
Somewhere, Michael Irvin was heard to say, “Did someone say blow? Where? I could go for some right now.”
“Gates for the 7:00 a.m. C.T. event open at 2:00 a.m. C.T.”
Just enough time to get some tailgating in.
LMAO at these comments!!! I will be there with a camera. Everyone has to admit that watching shit blow up is pretty cool. I’ve just never seen a building go down so right on, screw this eye sore, just glad I don’t live next to it. I will not be paying Irving any money though.

True. But no one will agree that an implosion could be described as “blowing shit up”. It’s very anticlimactic. One second it’s there, the next it’s dust. This is not the stuff of Hollywood.
Here are some videos captured at the event. It was awesome to see that huge building going down in just seconds: http://www.thehdstandard.com/eyepartner-news/texas-stadium-demolition-live-streaming/
