Garcia would like to return to Eagles

If the Eagles are successful convincing another team to take on the Michael Vick Project, the team will have to replace him on the roster. Jeff Garcia wants to be the man to do so.

Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News writes Garcia has “tossed his helmet into the ring” and Bowen wouldn’t be surprised if Garcia ended up back in Philly if Vick is dealt.

That all makes a lot of sense. Calling Garcia the “ideal mentor to Kevin Kolb” doesn’t.

Garcia’s career, with Philadelphia the possible exception, is filled with unhappiness and angling to start when he was on the bench.  We’ve never quite understood why Garcia has received a free media pass for much of his career for clashing with management from San Francisco to Detroit to Cleveland to Tampa Bay.

If Garcia wants to return to Philadelphia, we suspect it’s because he thinks he could possibly start again should Kolb falter.

“We’ve never quite understood why Garcia has received a free media pass for much of his career”…….cause he’s gay. T.O. said so.

You could find what 5? 10? qb’s out of football that would be better backup’s than Vick?
    Garcia
    Plummer etc etc etc
It’s sad how much he is overrated and loved.

He probably received a pass cuz in those locations he was the best QB on the team.
Not sure how much his skills have slipped, but in all likelihood, he’d be the best QB in Philly as well.

Garcia wants back with any football team that is willing to take his washed up ass.
Even if they did sign him as a “backup” it wouldn’t be long before the egotistical prick was pushing to be made starter even though his noodle arm can’t throw the ball any mopre than 15 yard without losing all accuracy, that is when he deides to actually throw it instead of tucking the ball and running round like a headless chicken for no reason while there are open wideouts down field.
I would actually rather have Vick on my team and I hate Vick with a passion.

It’s really too bad that the Rams picked up AJ Feeley. If the Eagles had been able to sign him, that would have been the ideal situation, for obvious reasons. Maybe they can finagle a trade with the rams come draft day.

This just in Jake Plummer is retired. If there are 5-10 better backup qb’s than Vick name them.

“…clashing with management from San Francisco to Detroit to Cleveland to Tampa Bay” …. and Oakland, he talked his way out of there without ever playing a single game. Although I can’t really blame him for that one…

Garcia wanting to come back (just like Trotter when he left for Washington) shows the exact opposite of how this site and other media tries to portray the Eagles as cutthroat and burning bridges.
All their players (except McNabb) love playing in that city and never want to leave. Even when they’re dumped, they still want to be back.

Father of the Year Andy Reid won’t sign Garcia because he didn’t kill dogs like Vick…thats a pre requisite.

Anyone who shows as much heart and fire as Garcia did when he spiked the ball at the Defensive Back, back in 06, will surely be welcomed back to Philly.
    Especially after McSmiley is gone..
Do you remember the Garcia play, he got penalized 15yrds for unsportsmanlike.. but the Linc still went apeshit for the spike.

Hell yeah. Bring Jeff and his hot wife back to this city. That would give us the 3 QB’s that we need unless Vick is dealt. In that case, Jeff would be 2nd string and someone drafted like Jevan Snead would be 3rd string.

Man, this guy is like a parasite. See a possible opening and tries hard to attach himself to something.

Your theory is weak, Gregg. Last year he was very happy to be with the Eagles for about 13 minutes with three guys ahead of him in the pecking order. That’s not a guy looking to be the starter. He also had a good relationship with his teammates and the fans (no sh*t) during his first tour of duty in Philly. It seems much more logical to me that he simply needs a job and that’s where he would like to work.

    Queen Joffee,
No shit Sherlock. Hence the phrase “OUT OF FOOTBALL”
I didn’t say back ups. That would be too easy. I said OUT OF FOOTBALL!
Does it break your heart that Vick would be a #3 on a v

Does it break your heart that Vick would be a #3 on a vast majority of teams?
