The Saints will enjoy their trade for tight end David Thomas for another year.
G.M. Mickey Loomis announced Tuesday Thomas signed his one-year tender as a restricted free agent, which is no surprise considering a team would have to give up a third-round pick to get him.
“David came to our team last season and proved invaluable, both as a receiver
from the tight end spot and also with his versatility and ability to fill in at
fullback when we needed him to do that,” Loomis said.
Thomas, acquired for a seventh-round pick, struggled with injuries in New England. He made 39 catches in 18 games last year, including three in the NFC Championship.
He sounds like a guy the Patriots could use.

This is good news.
What happened to the NBC story? Did your bosses kill it?
Ok Felger
they should have never traded this guy. what a dumb move. couple that with keeping galloway and releasing greg lewis- tough year for the pats when it came to cuts and trades.
they really needed his Personal Foul penalty that killed any chance against the Colts two years ago
He also struggled with the Belichick offense’s inability to get any production out of the tight end position.
The Saints just won the division.
the guy from Wendy’s?
