You were thinking? Well, that’s new. From what I’ve read, you simply Google and throw out the first stat you can find from the ndaa rather than thoroughly researching a topic. You know nothing about the variety of studies on false rape allegations and false convictions (which might explain the ndaa’s bias) or the extreme polarization and politicization of the rape-study statistics. You just want to come up with some way to make yourself sound relevant and intelligent.
Of course, it’s not easy to sound intelligent working with such a limited foundation–which is obvious when you have to piggyback on a misogynistic simpleton like Child_Please! Interesting choice for someone trying to claim the position of PFT’s feministic conscience.
This is far over your head, but a) Roethlisberger is not a rapist in the eyes of the law, and b) I have never defended him. I have defended the Constitutional principle that people are innocent until proved guilty, the belief that people are entitled to equal justice no matter what we think of their character or lifestyles, and the belief that trial by media is wrong–not that I expect you to understand the concept of defending a principle.

The Rooney’s now — more than ever — need to stand behind Ben, regardless of their own feelings about him as a person and/or the situations he’s put himself into over the last two off-seasons.
Right now, the pitchfork wavers in Pittsburgh are out in full force. There’s a lot of both agenda driven and even racially driven hate and vitriol surrounding this situation and Ben. Fans are throwing their jersey’s away, there are demands that he should never be the QB of the Steelers again coming from media types, talk that he’s stained the shield of the NFL, and all the stories we’ve heard about Ben being a jerk over the years are being brought up again and repeated ad nauseam. The level of hate seen in many of these reactions is unwarranted in my opinion, and seem more based on personal biases and agenda’s rather than what has actually happened with this situation.
Think about the precedent that could be getting set here: if suspended, Ben Roethlisberger would be the first player in the entire league to get suspended under the personal conduct policy even though he was never arrested or criminally charged. Really think about that for a second. He’s never been arrested, not once. Never even faced a criminal charge that he had to defend. And yet there’s talk of cutting ties with him altogether. That we should trade away the face of the franchise, the guy who two years ago the Steelers signed to an 8 year, $102 million contract with $36 million guaranteed. The guy that has led us to two SBs in the last five years, and three AFC Championship games in the last six.
If some want to turn this into a racial argument, I’ll play along: if Ben were black, would there really be an article on ESPN stating that “the hammer should be brought down on him” even though he’s a guy who’s never been arrested, never been taken into custody, and never faced one single criminal charge? A guy who’s never spent a night behind bars should face the wrath of the commissioner with media types demanding for action? I don’t think so. Something else to think about I suppose…
Look, am I saying Ben is completely innocent here? Of course not, he put himself in a bad situation and might really have a problem when it comes to his interactions with women (to say the least). But you can’t trade away the face of the franchise simply over allegations, I’m sorry, you just can’t do it. You can’t cut ties with a guy who’s never even been in handcuffs. You can’t run a guy out of town just because you think he’s an asshole and these allegations only support your line of thinking.
As disgusted as they might be with Ben, the Rooney’s need to make a stand and show support for him. The amount of pure hate and demand for action is simply over the top given what we factually know here. Regardless of what you or they or anyone else thinks about the guy, you can’t tar and feather someone who’s never been charged or arrested. Not to mention, it’s setting a horrible precedent. Despite all of the demands for action now, they need to stand behind him and show him support now. The Rooney’s have never been rash in their decision making. They need to calm the public and the media types down, show support for their player, and let this volatile situation calm down to the point where everyone can rationally judge what must happen. At the end of the day, I think Ben will be our QB going forward, so I think it’s imperative that the Rooney’s take the reins and take control of this now before it becomes an unworkable and more complicated situation.

Damn, with Ben being so rich and paying everyone off, I wish he would assault me. A-holes…he hasn’t paid anyone off. Think about it, you mental turds: IF he did pay off this girl, don’t you think he’d get a lil bit more out of her than ” i don’t want to pursue”? I would think his lawyers would hold out for a recant to restore his rep. And I am not a lawyer or up on GA law, but from the DA’s wordings, it seems that even if she didn’t want to pursue, they would have. Why justify no charges with a litany of reasons and then add that she didn’t want to pursue? Perhaps someone more into law could clear that up?
Another thing….Florio is, I believe, in the clear here from what you ball-less shits have to say, as the courts have ruled that a web hoster cannot be held responsible for what you lunatics dream up and type. That doesn’t mean he can’t prove to world he is full of crap; that time has long passed.
I’m a Stillers fan, yea yea yea, but I am also a fan of the Constitution and innocent until proven guilty. If he is as you queefs believe he is, he’ll get caught and nailed one day. I’ll never defend him on that. But damn people, the first case smells worse than Florio after a weekend in Tijuana. The DA said yesterday that the 2nd case was definately a 2-way thing. Both parties were less than pure. When you get the DA saying that, no wonder she didn’t want this pursued. lol
What makes the rooneys and goodell so moral to dictate what a grown man can do in his off time? He cannot stop baseless accusations. I suppose that, according to NFL morals, he is supposed to kill the next woman he has relations with so she can’t sully the “pure” rep of the nfl?

But “Big Ben” gets an eentsy weentsy tap on the wrist by them. Well Commish Goodell! Time to man up or shut up. Or you will become highly suspect by every player in the NFL (70% of them Black). I heard the interview, the hosts were asking him about the Roethlisberger case and he was very detailed and specific about the "alleged" Las Vegas incident. He stated the girl's age (late 20s maybe) and said that it was "groping". He also had a very interesting view on why the Vegas incident never went anywhere and why he thought the Georgia case was very similar.
