Roethlisberger re-joins the Steelers

Ben Roethlisberger’s criminal case in Georgia is in the past, as is his meeting with Commissioner Roger Goodell.

On Wednesday, the Steelers quarterback began trying to get back to football.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports Roethlisberger joined his teammates at the team facility Wednesday as they continued their offseason conditioning program.  (Based on recent video evidence, Roethlisberger could use the workouts.)

The team’s first on-field work of the year will come next Monday and Tuesday; Roethlisberger is expected to be in attendance then as well.

Here’s the problem in a nutshell if there is a suspension:
I am going to pay a gorgeous woman 75k (I got it) to flirt with Joe Flacco and get him to take her somewhere private, then she is going to cry rape. A huge story will break and Flacco and the Ravens will have to grapple with all the fallout and the suspension.
I hate the ravens and as a steeler fan I will be very pleased with myself, as will the steeler nation. Is this what the NFL wants?
It will simply allow fans to participate in the success of a given NFL team on mere accusations sans criminal charges. Allowing the fans to affect the game like this is beyond stupid. This is exactly why he should not be suspended. However a fine is not a big deal only a penalty on BB for being so gd stupid to put himself in that position.
Goodell is going to look stupid (and more stupid in the future) if he suspends Ben.
P.S. Any hot chicks out there want to make 75k?

He doesn’t deserve anymore than a 4 game suspension. 2 from the steelers and 2 from the NFL!! That’s FAIR for a guy not charged! However it is FAIR for a guy who shoved shots down a minor’s throat, followed her into a restroom and then forced himself on her! I just think Ben’s behavior sounds pretty Predatory to me!

If they took marijuana off of the banned substances list I can’t help but to think there would be far fewer incidents like these. Probably more arrests/citations, but fewer “loss of control/blackout” scenarios.

    ====================
you dont say what youre willing to bet, but I’ll take it. ben’s actions show otherwise: motorcycle, lying about the facts of the accident (i almost died because i swallowed too much blood), vegas hotel girl incident, georgia college girl incident, and possibly the boston lawyer investigation incident. there are too many incidents here, indicating a pattern of behavior. even if he didnt do anything illegal in any of these cases, the pattern of behavior shows that he just continually makes bad decisions and puts himself in bad positions. sooner or later the law of averages catches up with everyone. i.e. his trends show he does stupid things, and sooner or later he’s going to do something stupid that results in more than a slap on the wrist.

@ Steelers Homers…..Just because charges weren’t brought fourth doesn’t in anyway mean a crime wasn’t committed! It only means there wasn’t enough proof to secure a conviction. Your pig of a QB got really lucky here, but you can only run on luck for so long. He’ll be in trouble again by this time next year basically because he’s too freakin stupid not to! Mark my words it will happen! IMO, the only standup person in this whole ordeal IS the girl from Ga. I have no doubt that that asshole forced himself on her but at least she has enough morals to know that she was too drunk to recall everything that actually happened and took some ownership of her own. If she had been a money grubbing whore that most of you were hoping for she’ll still be persuing his dumbass, but since he’s already paid her and everybody else off to cover his ass that doesn’t have to happen! It’s only a matter of time before he does this to the wrong persons daughter and some angry dad will put a well placed, and well deserved, bullit right between his eyes and put him out of everyones misery. That what should happen to dogs who won’t stay out of the trash!

Many ofyou people are dumb and are way too negative. We got to be positive about the steelers and their players. Many of you are just assuming Ben is a rapist, you have no proof to back it up. There is no proof so then he’s not. Ben is back at work and he does not get into trouble in pittsburgh during work and the football season, only in the offseason outside of pittsburgh. He is a very good football player, fun to watch on the field and a winner. We would not have gotton those two lombardi trophies in we didn’t draft him.

  66. Jeff says: Apr 15, 2010 2:34 AM

Ben just needs to start making better decisions on where he goes. He needs to take the NFL more seriously. He had a 3 hour meeting with goodell and I believe goodell got some things through to Ben. I was not sure before his meeting with goodell when he made that speech, but after meeting with goodell and with art rooney on multiple occasions, I believe he’ll take playing in the NFL more seriously. It’s going to take a full football season and a full off season with no problems for Ben to get some fans trust back. All of you who hate him and want him gone then go be a fan of another team. If he’s gone, expect many bad seasons to come.

  67. Jeff says: Apr 15, 2010 2:40 AM

It’s not bens job to make sure the ladies are old enough to drink. It’s the clubs. Just like if you went to a club that had a bar and met a nice lady and offered her a drink. It’s not your responsibility to make sure she’s old enough. Ben assumed she was old enough because she was in there drinking before he bought her the shots.
