I don’t know about you, but I sure don’t want to share a team with those delusional blowhards. Our fanbase has already lost enough respect, why would you want that?
We have enough “self proclaimed know-nothings” predicting a Packers Super Bowl already. We don’t need to add in former Viking fans messing their pants over every quality FA we sign or trade fo… oh, wait… Nevermind, I guess that wouldn’t be a problem after all.

Jimmy- 90% of the people in Minnesota agree the dome is a dive but that has nothing to do with why it’s better for football to have a team in Minnesota. The problem is unlike Green Bay Minneapolis has full infrastructure and with the Gopher stadium and Twins Park the Vikings have to get in line for the $$$$. The MN State Gov can’t make it rain every day but the Vikings stadium is coming.
I really wonder how much you understand football rivarly and how that makes football worth watching for lots of fans. Ask Oklahoma/ Texas what it would do to a season if that game was wiped off the schedule.
One more thing Jimmy- Stay off the paint thinner this weekend it’s making you blind and stupid.

The Jags aren’t leaving Jacksonville anytime soon. When we get to the playoffs, in the next year or two, all of this talk will stop, with or without Tebow. The team doesn’t move until Wayne Weaver says so and he’s already committed to staying. After all, you don’t advertise three-year commitments unless you’re planning to stay available during that period of time. I’m too young to remember Jacksonville before the Jaguars were here, and I don’t wish to find out

Anyone with a brain can see, so that doesn’t include Bob and Jimmy, that this is another story to put pressure on the Minnesota Politicians to get the stadium done this session. If any of them want to be re-elected, it will get done. If it helps them get the stadium in Minnesota done sooner, I’m willing to put up with LA Vikings talk until it’s done.
And I would rather spend 365 days a year in Minneapolis then 8 weekends in Green Bay. Time for your cheese and medication Bob and Jimmy.

I just can’t get over the retardation of Jimmy Smith and Bob Nelson. If the Vikings move what does that do to your division, the state rivalry and the overall enjoyment of the game? As much as I can’t stand some Packer fans it wouldn’t be the same if Green Bay, Chicago or Detroit left the division.

This just in -add the Eagles to that mix. The recent $100+ million salary dump, lawyers and accountants taking over key FO roles, absence of long- term financial committments to players, a burgeoning warchest of cash that will go unspent even in the upcoming draft. In my view this adds up to a sale in 2011 or 2012. I believe that Lurie is waiting for the economy to brighten. He is tired of owning the Eagles, the continuous drumbeat of fan and media discontent with the head coach, the GM and president, it’s decision-making processes and fiscal conservatism. Based on the team’s recent actions, they can no longer continue to tell fans that they are all about winning champoinships when they are really about making money. Lurie can no longer sell the team’s competitiveness and stability to fans who are hungry for a championships. Besides, his wife hates living in working class Philly.

You are absolutely right. I don’t like to see any team move…for obvious reasons…and if you guys (city of Jax) want to keep your team, this is the season to show it simply by selling out all or at least most games this year. If that happens I’d think you’d be safe.

Don’t think lawmakers in Minnesota don’t see the great success of the new Twins stadium and won’t figure out a new stadium for the Vikings. Downtown Mpls was packed today, people all over downtown spending their hard earned dollars, all because of the new Twins stadium. We’re not dummies over here. Vikes are Minnesota’s forever.

There certainly is room to add an NFC and AFC team in the LA area. It is a very large area.
The vikings have the NFC spot pretty much wrapped up. The AFC team to move will take some more time.
Nothing helps capitalism like competition. I hope they do not get discouraged.
The more options the better.
The Los Angeles vikings sounds good.

"We're hearing that Tim Leiweke and Anschutz Entertainment Group have been working on a possible downtown Los Angeles football stadium." Um . . . Where "downtown," exactly? Don't get me wrong -- I'd love to see something built closer than the City of Industry, but there just doesn't seem to be any place to put a stadium in the region generally classified as downtown. I know the Anschutz Group owns a lot of property in the area, but they don't own that much, and I believe that most of what they do own is already marked for other development. There was once a proposal floated to build a stadium next to Dodger Stadium, but that seems like an unlikely possibility. The present owners of the Dodgers are up to their eyeballs in an ugly divorce. Since ownership of the team and its properties are part of the legal battle, I think it's pretty safe to say that nothing's going to be happening up there for some time. The Colosseum is out. It's been out since before the Raiders went back to where they belonged. The League has rejected it as a site time and again, and that doesn't even touch on the fact that USC's lease agreement would seem to preclude any changes that might make it more acceptable to the NFL. I think this one is going to be "completely unsubstantiated" pretty soon.

Clearly, we do have to many professional sports teams here in the second-most populous state in the Union. There just isn’t room for another one.
So . . . in exchange for receiving an NFL team in the greater Los Angeles area, we the people of California will agree to give up the following: The Oakland Raiders, the Warriors and the Clippers, the Kings (and the Ducks, if need be), and all of the soccer teams. Still not enough? OK, we’ll throw in the Padres, and maybe the Angels if our new NFL franchise winds up in Orange County.
Problem solved. Back up the Mayflowers to the Ed Jones dome, already!

Anaheim is not Los Angeles. Anybody who lives here understands that. Anybody who doesn’t, doesn’t.
The Raiders consistently sold 65,000 – 70,000 seats each Sunday. The Mausoleum held 100,000 fans, so it looked 1/4 empty each Sunday, because it was. The stadium sucks and the area near South Central sucks.
When the Rams were actually located in, you know, Los Angeles, they drew similar numbers, even in the 60′s and 70′s. But not many people are interested in driving down the 5 to Anaheim to see anything except Disneyland once a year.
And by the way, Industry is even more of a pain in the a@@ to drive to than Anaheim. It’s a dumb idea. Build a stadium in Los Angeles proper, in a decent neighborhood, (or in the revived downtown) and the fans will come — in droves.

I hate to break it to you but if Jags don’t have a huge financial turnaround and soon… they will be leaving Jacksonville. I don’t know whether Weaver would sell the team or move it himself, but one thing I know is that very rich men did not become rich operating businesses that lose money or produce a subpar return on investment.
So as gatorkevin pointed out already it is crunch time right now to determine if the Jags (or any NFL franchise for that matter is viable in Jacksonville). Ownership has been very proactive in trying to succeed in that market, I believe they don’t want to move the team, but there becomes a point that you have no choice unless you are willing to lose your investment (and that’s not something Weaver is willing to do, nor would the rest of the owners let him since the value of his franchise factors in to the factor of the league as a whole and thus affects the value of their franchises)

Demetrius82, I’m a huge Jaguar fan — have been since we got the team. But it’s hard not to acknowledge that there’s a real risk of the city losing the team. They’re making the push for this season, and if every game is blacked out again then nobody — especially us Jags’ fans — will have any grounds upon which to say “how did this happen?”

Wow, finally someone from Jacksonville who seems to have a clue. This was supposed to be the NFL’s promised land according to Paul “The Sun King” Tagliabue and his cronies. Truth is, its been anything but. Unless you folks start supporting that team…and quick….you’re gonna lose it. I just hope it lasts through next year (2011). See, my Ravens play there then, and I’d love to see them on the road since the tix are so easy to get!
