Ayodele signs amidst uncertainty with Saints RFAs

The Saints announced the re-signing of restricted free agent Remi Ayodele Friday, but they have many more players still in limbo.

Tackle Jamaal Brown plans to take his time returning to the team.  The Saints aren’t exactly sure what guard Jahri Evans and running back Pierre Thomas will do, although Thomas previously said he won’t miss on-field work.

Wide receiver Lance Moore, safety Roman Harper, linebacker Marvin Mitchell and wide
receiver Courtney Roby are also unsigned restricted free agents.

We suspect many of them will sign when the team’s offseason conditioning programs starts Monday, but the Saints may have more stragglers than any team in the league.

Ayodele plays what position? I don’t think he’s a household name. Poorly written Rosie.

Remi Ayodele played backup DT last year for the Saints.
Real Saints fans know his name…

FYI: LB Marvin Mitchell and KR/WR Courtney Roby are expected to sign their tenders when they show up for the start of the Saints’ off-season training and conditioning program tomorrow (along with back-up FS and special teams ace Usama Young), which will leave only G Jahri Evans, T Jammal Brown, SS Roman Harper, RB Pierre Thomas and WR Lance Moore still unaccounted for as restricted free agents.
Unrestricted free agents still at large for the Saints are: QB Mark Brunell, FS Darren Sharper, TE Billy Miller, DT Kendrick Clancy, TE Darnell Dinkins, DE Paul Spicer and TE Dan Campbell. The only one of these players who has even received any sign at all of interest from another team has been Brunell from the Jets, and it looks like they are going to get LB Jason Taylor from the Dolphins instead.
