Bradford appears to pass final test with Rams

Florio mentioned Saturday how Sam Bradford’s camp requested that his final workout with the Rams be moved up, and it took place Friday.

It sounds like everything went off without a hitch.

The session reportedly focused less on Bradford’s arm, and more on his mind.  The Rams worked him out like a practice. He showed his footwork, his drops, and his mobility before ever throwing the football.  Every pass was thrown with a specific game situation in mind.

“It was a little bit different,” Bradford said to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “They come in
and obviously they want to go through some of their reads, and some of
the footwork’s a little bit different.”

Rams offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur could be heard exclaiming “perfect” after many plays.

“That’s got to be good when the coach says ‘perfect,'” said Bradford’s agent Tom Condon.

Final test? I’m pretty sure that the real “final test” will be putting his John Hancock on a contract…

Good for the agent and the player..If the Rams don’t get a signed contract before drafting him and he holds out like Jamarcus Russell, they get what they deserve. The Rams have leverage now and need to use it or trade the pick. If he holds out, his rookie year will be a waste for all concerned.

If the Rams don’t draft this guy, how far would he fall?

The Lions should have drafted Michael Oher last year instead of Brandon freaking Pettigrew.

Good, get him off the board so the Browns don’t do anything stupid like trade up for him.

If the Rams actually passed on Bradford (I think there’s a better chance of Detroit taking Leigh Tiffin at #2, but that’s just me) then I would guess that the lowest point he falls is 3 or 4. If they pass on him it means they take either Suh or McCoy at #1. Then if Detroit takes the other DT, Cleveland would undoubtedly trade up to Tampa’s #3 spot and grab Bradford. If Detroit would take Okung and Tampa doesn’t want to miss McCoy, then I could see Cleveland working out a deal with Washington (unless of course, Washington thinks Bradford is too good to pass up). Long winded reply short, I don’t see Bradford making it out of the top 5 (hell, I don’t see him making it out of the top 1).

They should be focussed on his mind. It is by far the weakest part of his body. Dumb and QB don’t mix that well.

    Oher is overrated

    Bucs will get Suh.

I say the Lions take Okung. They can get a defensive playmaker at the top of the second round. Corey Williams is going back to a 4-3 where he had success so their line won’t be as bad without Suh. Okung would help deal with Allen adn Peppers and all the other stud pass rushers in the NFC North.

    John Hancock…it’s Herbie Hancock, duhhhh

  14. Floyd the Barber says: Apr 18, 2010 11:55 AM

The Rams will get the deal done, now or later. And if Bradford and Condon give any crap they can just tell them “rookie salary cap in 2011″ and the signature will follow shortly thereafter

Agreed. They would then have a franchise QB and LT. Therefore making Suh a no-brainer at #2.
And anyone who thinks Oher is overrated is just saying that because he had a movie made about him. He’s the real deal.

Is that sarcasm? Makes sense for the Lions to get a tackle.
