I’d love to see some proof of “his peers saying that”, especially because I know you don’t have any.
He will be fired after one more losing season, which is certainly something he is no stranger to. Either that, or we’ll remain the decent-but-nothing-special team we are now, and he’ll be gone once his contract is up, as was his fate in Seattle.
You are certainly a football idiot, but I’m not, and I don’t believe Mark Murphy is either. Get ready, you’re about to have a new GM to gush over.

Surface thinkers think of this as fantasy football. I do not know how much organized sports Beer or Chicken have played but even at its lowest levels you learn that everything you do in the offseason will determine what happens during the season. Im not necessarily talking about player acquisistion. I mean working with what you have. getting better in the weight room, the team activities, drills, schools, film study etc. this isn’t fantasy football. Some of the best trades……are ones that never happened. Some of the best multi million free agent acquisistions never were made. that doesnt mean Thompson doesn’t explore these options. I haven’t seen Ted “help” the Packers much. He made about five really good draft choices total, one good FA signing, and he had the smarts to know when to show a perpetually team cancer the door.
Other than that, he’s assembled a list of players, of which all but a handful would be backups on every other team, and at least three of which wouldn’t make another team’s roster at all. You want to be happy with that? Go ahead. I’m not.

In case you didn’t read my rant earlier in this thread, Favre can suck it. He wasn’t worth the trouble he caused. We are well rid of him. That was one of Ted’s very few good decisions, and I applaud him for doing it.
It’s not about Favre people. I hated Ted long before Favre got sent packing, and I hated Favre’s attitude since 2001 (I didn’t mind all of the wins though). They are both equally bad for the sport of football, just in their own very different ways.

The Lions have been trying to get a stable left guard next to Backus forever, but it’ ll probably be retirement time for both Raiola and Backus by the time they get one. I know they picked up Sims from the Hawks, but he doesn’t quite have enough koolaid burst to stop the whining (albeit, mine). Either way, seems like that should still be high priority.
They also have nothing to pair with Delmas. Praying Bullocks’ knee returns to form aint too bright.
I’d say DT but that’s probably more stable with Sammie Hill being adequate and Corey Williams beefing things up. Everyone else as far as the Cohens and Fluellen are lucky to make the roster.
LB now has a bit of a hole. Sims finally seemed to be coming around towards the end of the year, but maybe he was a concussion away from retirement. Coaches were high on Dizon last year, but Christ… And that’s it. Overpaying for Peterson and a second year man in Levy are ok starters.

I think you did a nice job on these with Green Bay, Chicago and Minnesota. Detroit absolutely needs a OT as bad as anyone though, you might think about moving that up in your Lion’s needs.

hutch may be getting older, but playing with a shoulder injury the entire year may have had a tad to do with his performance…
not quite an insider, but i assume shoulders are important for a lineman.
